Okay, we outscored the Yard Dogs and took the series, 10-7. I'm getting a little worried about Roy Mitchell, that's 2 subpar games in a row. First time all season. Okay, now that I check, he went 8 innings, and only 3 of the 6 runs he allowed were earned. We were down 6-5 and rallied for 5 in the top of the 9th. Mitchell goes to 14-4, and Fetters had to come in a get the save after Castillo walked the first 2 batters bottom 9. We battered Verlander out of the game early. They used 9 pitchers with Charlie Smith taking the loss.

The YD put up 1 in the first and then 4 more in the third, the last run driven in by Verlander on a base hit. We tied it with 5 in the 4th...

We lead now 10-6. Castillo gonna pitch in a on save situation, but he walks the first 2 batters and creates a save situation for Fetters, who enters the game with the tying run on deck. Tommy Davis singles in a run, but Fetters then gets a 3-6-3 double play ball from Padgett, and gets Correa to ground out to second to end the game. Fetters has been a phenomenal waiver pickup, with 14 saves now nd a 2.52 ERA.

Okay, another new series starting on the overnight. We host Klono's Brazen Balls for 3 games. They are 54-57, third place in the AL West, 9 games back. We are no 62-49, third place in the AL Central, 13 games out, and 10 games out of second place and the Wild Card. Klono's has a +82 RD and is under .500. And they are only one game under .500 in one run games, so they must have had some real blowout wins along the way.

First game we will face 1972 Steve Kline (9-8, 4.06). We are going with Carlos Martinez (2-2, 6.17). He almost was put on waivers yesterday, but I was about 100K short for the move I wanted to make. Let's see if he can change my mind.

A GREAT win for us overnight as we edged Klono's 5-4. Down 3-0 after 4 we tied it in the 5th. Then down 4-5 after 7 we tied it in the 8th and walked off the win in the 9th. Alcala goes 2.1 innings for the win. Craig Kimbrel takes the loss.

Klono's started the scoring with a stick in the second on Bob Meusel's HR. They then got 2 in the 4th on back to back home runs by Cecil Travis and Meusel again. Travis' HR was an inside the park job. We got 2 in the 5th on an error by Travis and an RBI single by Cullenbine, his 101st RBI of the season in our 112th game. We then tied it in the bottom of the 6th on an RBI hit from Helms, 3-3.

Top 7, Marte with a 2 out RBI hit gives Klono's a 4-3 lead. Bottom 8 against Karsay, Hosmer's 2 out double scored Dickey to tie the game at 4. Kimbrel comes in to get the final out of the 8th. Bottom 9 now, Agganis bats for Alcala and smacks a double. Speaker then singles to left and Agganis slides home safely on a close play to win the game.

2. Jorge Alcala - 2.1 scoreless innings for the win.

Game 2 of the series this afternoon. We'll be facing lefty Slim Sallee (9-9, 4.58) who we have hit well this season so far. We are throwing Ray Collins (2-2, 4.71).

Klono's beat us 6-4. We blew leads again, 2-0 and 4-3. Castillo came in nbd gave up 3 ruins in the 8th, although the last 2 runs scored on a 2 out double off of Fetters. Sallee gets the win and Kimbrell the save. Castillo takes the loss.

Boudreau with 2 hits. Speaker did not start but came in as a def. replacement in the 8th and then doubled in the 9th. Pignatano went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs as Dickey rested against the lefty. David Segui with 2 doubles and a single for 4 RBI, and Katel Marte was 2 for 3 with a walk, 3 runs and 2 RBI.

Series finale this evening. Klono 's goes with Gerritt Cole (10-12, 4.14). We battered him in the series finale the last time we played Klono's. We've got Sam Leever (3-1, 4.25) going.

Okay, we outslugged Klono's 9-6 to take the series. We were up 8-3 and held on as Leever went 8 innings for the win despite allowing 6 runs. Our bullpen needed a rest. Fetters threw 9 pitches in the 9th for his 15th save. We pounded Cole again, this time for 9 runs (7 ER) in 6 innings.

Marte with a solo HR top 1 to give Klono's a 1-0 lead. We came right back with 3 in the bottom of the inning as Harry Simpson blasted a 3 run bomb. Then we got 3 more in the second. Speaker with an RBI hit and Simpson with a 2 run single. Klono's with 2 in the ird made it 6-3 on Martes RBI triple and Segui's RBI single. Bottom 3 we got 2 more on back to back RBI doubles by Speaker and Boudreau. 8-3 now.

Top 5 and an RBI single by Jim Ray Hart makes it 8-4. Top 6, Marte with a 2 run single cuts our lead to 8-6. Bottom 7 and Leach cracks a solo HR to make it 9-6, which is how it ended. Leever gets through the 8th, throwing 120 pitches on the day. Fetters has a 1-2-3 9th to close it out. Marte with 4 hits including a triple and HR, 3 runs and 4 RBI.

Once again we will start a new series on the overnight. We are at What If FSJU for 3 games at Petco Park. FSJU is now 66-48 in the AL East, leading that division by 14 games. We are now 64-50 in the AL Central, 13 games back and 11 games out of second place and the wild card.

We will see 3 right handed starters in the series, with 1906 Barney Pelty (12-14, 3.34) throwing game one. We are countering Pelt with Roy Mitchell (14-4, 3.16).

Okay, a few games left before the transaction deadline. I just made 3 moves. I dropped Hudson, Castillo and Martinez in favor of 2016 deGrom, 2017 Georg Kontos, and 1934 Reggie Grabowski, who is just here to keep me over 1200 innings. I hope to replace him with someone better in the next few days. This weakens my bullpen a little, but gives me deGrom to replace Martinez in the rotation. 2016 deGrom is not great, but I think he'll be better than Martinez, and I only need 10 or so starts from him with 48 games remaining.

I will have 1.466 million to replace Grabowski, but the guy has to have at least 66 real life innings to keep me over 1200. Right now Grabowski is mop up. If nobody reasonable shows on on waivers to replace Grabowski, maybe I use the 975K in cash I have to upgrade somewhere else.

We just took the opener of the FSJU series 5-3. Tied at 3 going into the 9th, we put up 2 in the top of the inning and held them off in the bottom half to win. Mitchell pitched very well, but the win went to Fetters who came into the game with one out in the 8th. Jack Taylor took the loss in relief.

GSJU scored first, one in the bottom of the third as Ruth scored on a Marwin Gonzalez SF. We took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 4th on back to back 2 out singles by Helms and Mitchell. Bottom 4 and Varitek ties it at 2-2 with an RBI hit. Top 7 and we get the lead back on an RBI hit from Simpson, 3-2. Bottom 8 one out and Babe's solo HR ties the game and knocks Mitchell out. Fetters comes in and gets the last 2 outs with a groundball single in between.

Top 9 now, Jack Taylor in to pitch. He gets 2 quick outs on deep flyballs, but then Dickey bloops a single and Simpson walks. Leach then singles home a run, and they remove Taylor and bring in Pierotti. Agganis singles in Simpson to make it 5-3. Bottom 9 now, and Fetters gets them 1-2-3 to end the game. Fetters needed just 17 pitches to get 5 outs. A-Rod with 3 hits. We had 12 hits, all singles.

Game 2 of the series Monday afternoon. We will face Cy Morgan (18-6, 3.19). 2016 Jacob deGrom makes his debut on the mound for us. For the first time we are 15 games over .500 at 65-50.

Down early 2-0, we came back with 5 unanswered ns to win 5-2. deGrom goes 8 innings for the win and allows just 2 runs for a great debut here. Poncedeleon with a scoreless 9th on just 10 pitches for his 4th save. He still has a 0.00 ERA in 13.1 innings now. Cy Morgan (18-7) took the loss.

Barry Bonds with a 2 run blast in he third gave FSJU the early lead. They would not score again. Meanwhile we put up a 4 spot in the top of the 4th on consecutive RBI singles from deGrom, Speaker and Boudreau. Top 7 we get solo Home runs from Dickey and Buxton to make it 5-2, which is how it ended.

We have won 8 of our last 10 and are 66-50 now. This evening we go for the 3 game sweep against FSJU. Frank Corridon (4-4, 3.54) gets the ball for us, and we will face Cy Young (18-8, 2.76) who we have handled well this season.

We could not get the sweep done, as Cy Young, Gus Dorner and Mariano Rivera held us to one run in a 4-1 loss. Young gets the win to go to 19-8, and Mariano picks up his 33rd save. Frank Corridon took the loss to fall to 4-5, but he gave up just 2 runs in 7 innings.

Our only run came on an RBI single by Speaker in the third. They got 2 in the third and 2 in the 8th, even though we held them to just 4 hits on the day. One of them was a 2 run HR by Marte in the 8th. Simpson had 2 hits, and we did not draw any walks. Just 7 singles all day.

We start another new series on the overnight. We have a 3 game series at Balking To New Orleans, the team that is leading our division, and also has the best record in either league at 79-38. They are playing .675 baseball, which translates to 109 wins if they can keep that up. The games are at The Astrodome.

Ray Collins (2-2, 4.33) is pitching for us in game one. Balking is throwing 1909 Cy Morgan (16-2, 2.71). Last time we played them we were able to take 2 out of 3 games.
