New Mock Draft Forum-draft starts NOW Topic

I need a spot up shooter that AI (if he will) and KJ to kick it out to. Rice would have been perfect but I guess I will pick Mike Miller

I'm going to grab a guy that never seemed to realize his full potential, yet was a great defender and rebounder for many years in this league despite some injury trouble.  He'll grab 16-28 minutes a game in rotation with Kareem & Jones, depending on the situation.  Marcus Camby is the first guy I've drafted with no ring.

Amare Stoudamire
awesome defender
I didn't take him for his D but he will mix well in our runnin game. Kidd, Pistol, Worthy, Hill, & Amare should get me alot of fast break points & Dream can also get involved with his speed & athletecism! My PG situation consists of Kidd 6-4, Pistol 6-5, & Hill 6-7 who are all great ball handlers & passers. With the length, speed, & quickness on this team we should get plenty of steals! Hill, Worthy, & Amare can flush it with the best of 'em. With Dream or Ewing in the post these 5 can do some serious damage cuttin to the basket also. We can also take advantage of defensive mismatches in the paint with Hill and Worthy .

Hill can play 4 positions but will mostly play SF, SG, & PG and possibly PF in certain matchups. He would've been one of the greatest SF's ever without the ankle injury obviously.

Kidd being a great defender can guard bigger players which he showed throughout his career.

Worthy could see action at PF also.

I'll go with an all around great game.  Orebs make the decision easier.  Versatile and a proven winner (at least 6 Finals).

Horace Grant

Was looking at Camby and Daniels as well.

We will give you open threes and guard you once you get past the three point line.  Kidd, Worthy, Hill, Amare, and Pistol....not one of them three point shooters (I understand that most of Pistol was pre 3pt FG, and he might have hit a few, but you guys will get killed with your lack of three point shooting).

I still don't know who Amare Stoudamire is.  Was he Damon's cousin?

Actually, malone, Maravich had very deep range and definitely would be a serious threat from behind the modern 3 point line.

I know he was, but one guy with insane range doesn't make up for the absolute dearth of outside shooting that he has.  Put a point guard on Pistol to stay in his face and let the rest of them go brick city, or he takes modern Jason Kidd and we get to watch every point guard in this league torch him every single night.

BTW...I think this would be a little better if we stretched this to 10 players.  In order to compensate for potential foul issues, players with injury issues, and the like.  With this we get a full rotation, and I think that this would be a touch more realistic, and it will only take an two or three days to accomplish.

You act like 3 pt shooting is the most important thing in basketball which is a joke but I have excellent mid ranged shooters who could hit 3's better than u r givin them credit for which seems to be the theme around these parts. Pistol will blow by guys playin him straight up. Pistol Pete was unguardable and could score at will but you guys want to convince yourselve's otherwise. He was an incredible ball handler with insane shooting range and would be even better with a great post player like Dream. Kidd and Grant were unguardable also with their great ball handlin skills and would break down any D in this draft and my great scorers Dream, Worthy, Ewing, Amare, Maravich, and Hill will have wide open looks, and cut thru wide open lanes for easy dunks all game long

I don't think any of you have 3 guys on your own team who can break down a D, create wide open shots, and have scorers who can finish all game long like I have on my team.

Worthy was a knock down shooter, great slasher/finisher, & post player who made Jabbar a better player and would do the same for Dream.

You can claim I don't have shooters but Kidd & Hill improved from the arc every year and Kidd is still a great defensive player and proved it in the playoffs this season but you guys toss out insane accusations about my players even though they are amongst the greatest players ever at their positions! Who is going to stay in front of Kidd, Maravich, & Hill?

Every guy on my team is an offensive threat and if you leave them they will make you pay. They don't have to stand around the 3 pt line like you want them to but they can also slash to the basket for ez layups, dunks, or step up for ez wide open mid range shots which they can all knock down. They are all scorers who can get their shots at any time! Don't think every team in this draft can say the same! Kidd is my weakest offensive player but he is my PG which is the ideal situation for one of the greatest PG's ever!

Maravich, Worthy, & Hill give me way more than enough scoring ability on the wing to have an unstoppable offense and the passing ability they possess with great size makes this team even more difficult to defend.

I have incredible ball handlers and passers like Kidd, Maravich, and Hill and you question how they will score LMFAO. The ? is how are you going to defend this great offense with these 3 always in the paint or Dream, Ewing, Amare, or Worthy in the post? Maravich was a magician with the ball, incredible shooter, and scorer and you act like he was a nobody but the truth is if he had played on a great team that team would've been unstoppable. He was that great whether u want to admit it or not!

This team isn't finished yet but I do like the players I have assembled just like I like most of the other teams that u guys have put together!

snydpie...you are insane.

1.  You get one season, or era of a player.  You do not get a Kidd that can defend and hit the open three.  You do not get the slashing, blazing quick Pistons era Hill with the three point shooting Suns era Hill.

2.  No one has three players that can break down a D, create open shots, and have scorers that can finish all get long...lets see.  why do you need a bunch of guys that are finishers?  A couple are fine.  Role players win championships.  CP3 will kill Kidd.  Moncrief probably have the best chance of hanging with Pistol this side of Jordan and Kobe, but Pistol won't keep up on D.  Bird vs. Worthy....enough said.  McHale vs. whoever is going to be the PF.  McHale holds his own on D and will draw fouls on offense as well as shoot at a very high percentage.  Cowens is the enforcer...he isn't better than Dream and is close talent wise to Ewing, but he is the better rebounder and is tough inside.

3.  You are also talking of put Worthy at PF.  Please do.  This league demands it.

4.  How am I going to defend this team you built?  CP3 is going to steal the ball from Kidd a lot or a whole hell of a lot (depending on which Kidd you use).  Moncrief is going to do much of the same with Pistol.

5.  What is next?  Are you going to draft Bol and tell us he could be a defensive stopper at PF?  Just because you draft them doesn't make them the greatest ever.  You have some D and a lot of offense.  You are a super charged version of early 90's Golden State...congrats.  Now let's quit with the sideshows and get to the main event.
