Vikings(9-1): old Favre v. Favre-wannabe Topic

The luck had to do with Brad Childress making the stupidest play-calling decisions I've seen since Tice's 4th qtr decision-making. I believe if Childress had chosen to run the ball on 2nd and long (the play before the fumble) then a different play would have been called, and the fumble would never have occurred. I think Childress by calling that pass on 2nd and long was testing the good karma (My Name is Earl reference) he had from the couple of plays before when Moore had that brilliant conversion on 3rd down. It was a dumb play-call, plain and simple.
Either way, it was a tough, hard-fought game. There were mistakes made on both sides, however, the most critical ones were made by the Vikings and they paid for it in the end.

Childress making a bad call isn't luck...it's bad coaching.

Luck? Where? The Bear defense forced a turnover when the team NEEDED one to have a chance. They made it happen with one of the top 3 DLmen in the game...Tommie Harris. That aint luck..it's being good. The only luck I saw was that garbage TD the ViQueens got on the pick
Suxy throwing a panic pick for a TD is not luck, muddy

as for the turnover, you are 100% correct....the reason the Bears have to be considered a threat is that all the offense needs to do is wait around until that amazing D gives them a chance to win

the Vikes should feel pretty good about this game though...they hung around against a team they are not as good as, and save for a poorly timed turnover, probably would be sitting atop the division right now

It was luck. The DB was lucky to be where Grossman dumped the pass, as he was sorely out of position to make any sort of play on a completion.

That's a stretch by you. You don't know what defense was called and if Winfield had come up on his own after seeing Grossman eyeball his intended receiver while under pressure.

Sorry, can't let you say that and let you think you're right. You have no idea what was called there and who was or wasn't out of position. Not to mention it looked to me like if Jones had caught it, Winfield would've been there to tackle him.

A defensive formation here or there really isnt that big of a deal; in the long run the bears are going to finish roughly 13-3 (easy schedule) and the vikings are going to finish with 10/11 wins and make the playoffs; who cares about the minor details?

Blah, blah, blah. The Bears (the best team, by FAR in the NFC North) won the game and did it with a less-than-great game. That's the mark of s contender.

After the past couple of weeks, there is absolutely no question that the Bears are probably the best team in the entire NFC, while my Vikings have looked eerily similar to the Bears of the past couple of years...awesome defense, absolutely no offense. It's quite a change to what we've been accustomed to.
Right now, we're 3-2 heading into the bye week (should be 4-1, but oh, well), and we go to Qwest Field after the bye to face the Seahawks. They should have Alexander back by then, so it'll be a different team than the one the Bears faced a week ago. I'm not expecting a win that game, but who knows?

The 12th man has now the building!

No Alexander and no Hasselbeck in the 2nd half, congrats on your big win.

Alexander and his giant 2.9 YPC before his injury wouldn't have much of a difference vs our defense.

While Hasselbeck probably would have made it closer, I still believe we would have won. He started out like a house on fire, but he was starting to have trouble just prior to the injury. Not to mention the only receiver doing anything was D-Jack. Everyone else was non-existent.

Gonna be a good game tonight.

Bradley is trying to force too much. Just paid for that one.
