65-49 win over Liberty. This was our home opener; not a great first half, but good second-half defense allowed us to blow the game open.

70-49 win at Georgia Southern. We weren't great, but they were worse; lots of turnovers to go around.

64-52 win over Mississippi. We went slowdown, and had a big FT disparity in our favor. Those two factors combined for what's easily the biggest win of this regular season thus far. RPI 86, SOS 151.

Ended out-of-conference play at 4-6, but won our conference opener over Morehead State, 84-71. Murphy went nuts, but we won due to a HUGE FT disparity in our favor. RPI 161, SOS 196.

Been a while since I've updated this due to me being out of town. That said, we had a 3-2 start to conference play before winning our last six games, now standing at 13-8. RPI 115, SOS 199.

Like last year, we win the South, but fall in the CT. We won 17 games, so I'm not terribly displeased, and we do return 3 starters next season. I'm relatively optimistic we can replace the seniors I'll profile in the next few days.

Didn't get a chance to post senior retrospectives due to a trip to Las Vegas and an unexpected lack of internet. Regardless, Coffee was very good, Juarez was decent, and Karpinski and Ball were useful bench players.

Done at 8 PM, but with a bit of a mediocre recruiting class. The first guy, and one I wanted from the start, is Douglas White (#83 C, **). The thing that jumps out at me is his speed, which is already at a high level for a big and will go up big-time. Everything else is already at a good level coming in, save for his stamina (which will also go up). He'll be a good fit right away, and he should develop nicely.

Next is Henry Humphrey (#100 PG, *). He's low-ranked because he's a tweener. I'll primarily be playing him at SG due to his high perimeter rating. Regardless, he's got great speed, and while his rebounding is nonexistent, everything else is at a reasonably-good level coming in. He's not going to be anything extraordinary, but he should top out as a very good sixth man.

The third is a SG I'd like to redshirt. Jon Hill (#96 SG, *) isn't bad coming in, but he's got high potential in a number of areas, and with his work ethic, he'd really benefit from that extra year. His peak isn't all that great, but like Humphrey, he'll be a useful guard in his role.

My final recruit is one I'm angry about having to take. It's not like Thomas Weaver (#83 SF) is that bad. But I was in a BIG battle for someone much better, and earlier today, I settled that I was beat and settled for him. Needless to say, things fell through with the school I was battling, and NEITHER of us ended up signing that target. Regardless, Weaver will be reasonably-OK. Not great, but he'll be a good scorer despite low rebounding.

THOUGHTS ON RECRUITING

Ugh.

That about sums it up. It's not like my guys are bad. I like White a lot, and Humphrey and Hill will eventually fill roles on good teams. Missing out on the SF I had a chance at stinks, though; when he signs, I'll post him. Weaver's better than taking a walk-on, and he'll probably be a good backup down the line, but I just don't see him as a starter.

This is probably my worst D1 recruiting class I've brought in in any of my teams in any world under any alias. I hope I'm wrong, but this team could be in some trouble, at least early on, in terms of depth. I'll give myself a C+.

Here's Marvin Ingram (#263 overall, #44 SF, **), the one that got away this season. Nice job by Charleston Southern to snatch him up.

Hill agreed to the redshirt following our first exhibition. That's great news; he wouldn't have played much this year, and it gives him an extra season to develop.

I probably won't be too in-depth with the tracking thread from this point on. I don't have regular access to Windows, so posting box scores is impossible. Expect periodic updates, however.

3-7 after ten games, and only after wins in the last two. We're going to need time to improve; once we do, we'll be OK, but we're not at that point right now, and we may not be until the end of this season.
