Well, for those of you who are waiting with bated breath, and those who simply want to hurl insults, I'll return to my ramblings.
I believe I off introducing you to two brothers who are central to the entire point of this posting. The younger brother En-lil and the older En-ki.
As mentioned previously, En-lil was the chief administrator of the Anunnaki settlement on Earth called the E-din (remember, these names and terms are directly translated from ancient cuneiform script into english and predate the Bible by several millenia). En-ki, as the chief scientist was assigned to oversee the gold mines of southern Africa (geographical descriptions of his travels tell us the location of the gold mines being referred to were in Africa).
By being relegated to a position outside of the main settlement, this meant that En-lil had a higher-ranking position than his older brother, a fact not lost on En-ki. This marked the beginning of a long-lasting fued between the two brothers that has continued ever since.
A highly publicised story over the last decade has been the discovery by geneticists that all human DNA patterns that currently exist anywhere on the planet, have all been succesfully traced back through time to a common female ancestor that is now being called "Genetic Eve". According to extensive analysis of the collected data, the time period we are looking at for the life of "Genetic Eve" was approximately 450,000 years ago. For Paleoanthropologists, this has established a much earlier date than previously ascertained for the origins of our current species, **** Sapiens Sapiens.
En-ki and En-lil, although brothers, shared only the same father. The great Anu (Namesake for the Anunnaki). He was the sepreme ruler of all the Anunnaki. This made En-lil and En-ki halfbrothers. En-lil also had a sister from the same mother and father, Nin-khursag. This also made Nin-khursag En-ki's half sister.
This is where things get interesting. According to the Sumerians, work in the gold mines of Africa was long, hard, strenuous work. The number of Anunnaki who came to Earth only numbered about 250 at the most. The Anunnaki needed production on a much larger scale to meet their need for gold. They did not merely want gold, they needed gold for their survival. This is an extremely important point and one you need to remember. Enki, being a scientist and a very prominent geneticist, was tasked with the project of finding a way to mine the gold much more efficiently and in greater abundance than the levels that were being produced by the small band of Anunnaki miners. This was a perplexing problem for En-ki at first, but he soon came to the realization that the answer to the Anunnaki predicament may exist right in front of them.
There existed on Earth a creature that was just beginning to ascend the intellectual scale toward becoming an intelligent species. What more perfect candidate to do the mining on the behalf of the Anunnaki than this creature that had already found the wherewithall to rear up off of its forelimbs and move around bipedally, thus freeing up it's forelimbs for other tasks. Such as mining gold. To take full advantage of this creature, En-ki knew he had to make some changes. He knew that in order to do the work, the creature had to be made more intelligent. The only way to do that was to cross-breed the creature with the Anunnaki themselves. As the most prominent geneticist amongst his people, En-ki was qualified to perform this task. Next, En-ki had to create within the creature a natural insinct, and desire for gold, so that the creature would be naturally driven to search for and accumulate this most valuable substance. Instilling an irresistable "gold fever" so to speak.
With a plan in mind, En-ki now had to find a willing volunteer amongst his people to provide DNA with which to combine with the Earthly creature's DNA and create a new species. En-ki found his volunteer in his half-sister and lab assistant Nin-khursag. In order for the genetic splicing to properly take, the newly formed creature could not be created in a lab, it had to take place within the proper incubational atmosphere of an actual womb. Nin-khursag's womb. The womb of "Genetic Eve". The process involved En-ki providing his own sperm that was used (with some genetic manipulation) to fertilize an earthly creature's egg. That egg would then be removed from the earth creature's womb and placed in Nin-khursag's womb where it would grow from an egg into a fetus and then to be born as the first of a new species.
"And God created man in His own image"
This new creature was called (and this is directly translated from the cuneiform texts) "the A-dam".
According to the Sumerians, the A-dam and all the subsequent **** sapiens sapiens that were spewed out of the Anunnaki birthing factory, made for very obedient and hard working slaves. After all, they were genetically programmed to do exactly what the Anunnaki wanted them to do.
As an archaeologist/anthropologist I know one thing that has never been satisfactorily resolved by either evolutionists or creationists is the question of how humans made the jump so quickly from the archaic form of **** sapiens to the much more advanced **** sapiens sapiens. That leap takes place in a time period that is much too fast for the normal evolutionary time scale. This is a connundrum that no scientist has ever been able to convincingly solve. Of course, creationists never did believe in this and their theory is based strictly on the faith that some supreme being created the universe, the earth, everything on the earth and of course, mankind over the course of six days and then sat down and had a rest on the seventh day. To analyse this theory with any form of pure reason is absolutely impossible. And it is designed to be that way because it demands acceptance based on complete faith. Strange how an ancient "myth" so smoothly and seamlessly explains in detail what neither modern science, nor modern faith can.
Remember how it was En-ki who created the new being? Over the following millenia, and through many successive civilizations following the Sumerians, the ancient tales and myths that started with the Sumerians spread out and changed over time. The stories themselves however, were essentially the same and involved the same characters, albeit with evolved names that suited the language of whichever culture they were told by.
When Abraham migrated with his family from Ur first to Haran and then to Canaan, he brought with him the story of En-lil and En-ki. By this time, the name of En-lil had evolved with Akkadian influences into the name El-Elyon who was the leader of the Elohim. Upon arriving in Canaan, Abraham (who was named Abram when he Ur) changed the name once again to El Shaddai, meaning "Lord of the Mountain". After Abraham founded Judaism, within five generations after Abraham the name had again been changed to be better accepted into the new Judaean language. This new name was developed with serious religious and political undertones. In order to make their deity more mysterious and fearful, name was simply changed to YHWH (translated to "I am that I am"). Later revised to Yahweh. And then to Jehovah. But what came of En-ki, our supposed creator. Read on.
In Ancient Sumerian murals and sculpture, En-ki is always depicted as a serpent. This depiction has lasted right up to this very day as En-ki the scientist and doctor whose symbol is a serpent is still used today as the symbol of a medical practitioner. Yes, the medical symbol of a serpent wrapped around a staff has its origins way back at the beginning of human civilization. That is not the only place the depiction of a serpent takes place.
I'm sure you all know of the story how Adam and Eve get kicked out of the garden of Eden after betaking of the Tree of Knowledge. Well then you will remember that it was a serpent who told them that contrary to what they had been told by God, if they ate of the Tree of Knowledge, they in fact would not die, but become as knowledgable as God Himself. Of course they did not die, but they were kicked out. Hmmmmm, the serpent told the truth and God lied. Hmmmmmm.
I have to change positions again so I have to enter this and come back later.
