Big league or AAA pitcher? Topic

I think this has a lot to do with the talent base in your particular league. In my league, this guy is a pretty very decent starter, but I believe our league started with lower player talent, especially on the pitching side.

What others have said about evaluating pitching is correct, controll and splits are most important, and it is almost as important that a guy have one good out pitch, the higher the better. A respectable complimentary pitch or two is then the next most important thing. Velocity doesn't matter much. Guys with one very very high pitch and a very high GB rating can be effective too if the other numbers aren't terrible.

Simleague baseball has "Live" play, based on that same engine. You can go and see for yourself that the engine does not work on a pitch-by-pitch basis. Also, if it was pitch-by-pitch, there's no reason you'd ever see a pitcher go over his MPC, which you see now once in a while because he began the PA below it and, after the PA finished, ended up above it.Or you could believe what has been said on one of the few aspects of the engine that CS/developer/Admin have been consistent, unanimous, and unequivocal on.

Fine. It's not resolved pitch-by-pitch.

My original statement about pitch calling mitigating the negative effects of poor secondary pitches is still far closer to correct than your illogical "PC just modifies OAV" statement.

Remember, this is HBD you're talking about. While "PC just modifies OAV" may be illogical, it is exactly what WIS has said about how it works. So I think you've got it backwards. Your position may be more logical but zbrent's is correct.

And where did I make that statement?
