I might add that draft budgets are one thing, and IFA budgets another. Even with IFA scouting $2mil you can still play the IFA game by focusing on bonus demands and current ratings. Generally, guys I've seen asking for bonuses over $2-2.5 mil are always ML prospects.

Yes. That's the way that I will do it from now on. I made a rookie commish mistake thinking that he "should" be able to reset his budgets in the offseason just like a new owner.

I made the mistake of bringing my IFA scouting down to 6 instead of up to 14 with a newly acquired "trash heap" team (I think I was drunk on budget day - all day). I ended up having to use the demands as a method to determine an IFA's value. I ended up overpaying (because I knew I wouldn't see many others) for Pepe Cortes. I'd say it worked. All you zero adv scouting users, you can still tell this is a good prospect.

Yup. Tony Diaz for $4 mil bonus with $6 mil scouting. No more than a platoon player at the BL level eventually, but a dynamite vsR platoon player is worth a lot to me, on the grounds that vsL platoon halves are easy to find cheap. He's gonna kill RHP.

I picked upWillie Vazquez as the other half of the platoon for 760,000 this season

Did you notice his 37 makeup?

Isn't makeup overrated? $4 mil isn't too much of a gamble I'd say.

tec the only 37 I noticed was the number of seasons you've played without winning a championship. Instead of giving your negative feedback on every subject maybe you should try focussing on winning something instead.

OH!!! THAT'S GONNA LEAVE A MARK!!!

$4 mil is a pretty cheap IFA gamble. And yes, his makeup is low, but he doesn't have too far to go in his key offensive ratings. The point was (and maybe I wasn't clear enough) is that he looked terrible on my $6 mil scouting projections, but I signed him based on bonus demands, and once he was in my system, my advanced scouting told me I had a good value. If you have $6 mil scouting in IFA but a ton of cash, bid on any player asking for $3 mil+ in bonus. It's not like the draft, where lots of guys are asking for $2.5 mil to pass up that hoops scholarship, but they aren't worth a 5th round pick.
