If they play slow down, they average more. I play McCLure on my VMI team largely at that level, and he's averaging 28 minutes a game or so - and that is brought down a good bit by the fact that I have the team playing the bench in blowouts.

The problem is not that high STA players can't play 35 minutes. The problem is that player performance degrades far too much when they aren't in the green.

Rob's wrong when he identifies the problem as players not being green all game. The problem is that a stud in the yellow should still be more effective than his backup -- and in HD, he's not.

i am never wrong

seriously, i watch just as much college hoops as the next guy - i rarely see guys bent over grabbing their shorts very long on the court before being removed - so if guy is playing 33 mpg in real life, odds are pretty good he is pretty fresh for most, if not all of those 33 minutes

however, anton is totally correct on the 2nd part

How many college players play 37mpg?

way more than you think - i went thru just the A10 teams - on average 3 players a team play 30+ a night, and i found 4 players at 37 mpg

This thinking is the problem. The assumptoin that somebody who is in great condition won't ever get tired. You could put Lance Armstrong on a basketball court and if he ran up and down the court for 35 minutes he would be tired for portions of the game.
again, you are out of your freakin mind

When guys are bent over grabbing their shorts, they are exhausted, it doesn't mean they aren't somewhat tired before that. Leaning over and grabbing your shorts is a sign to the other team that your gassed, and even if you are gassed you aren't going to send an obvious sign to your opponents that you're tired. Watch how many guys stand with their hands on their hips, it makes breathing easier and when players get tired they do that, the next game you watch count how many times you see players standing with their hands on their hips.

Seriously, you just have no idea what you're talking about on this topic. I've played a lot of basketball been around tons of basketball players, and I'm talking about guys who have played D1 ball. I know far more about real life basketball than the average fan. I'm not just somebody talking out of his ***.
