It is in real life. Who was the best PG in college this year? John Wall who is a super-athlete. I'm an east coast guy, so I watch the NBA over here. Who are the two best PGs in the Eastern Conference? Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose. Neither guy is a shooter, but both are very very fast and athletic. Speed and athleticism are important here, as they should be.

If a successful team is full of players that are not only fast and athletic but that also excel at shooting, rebounding, defending, passing, etc ... then how it is you're deciding that sp/ath is the biggest factor? I mean, aside from the fact that it fits your agenda
in wis if you could choose a player who was a great athlete and good at the cores or a good athlete and great at the cores which would you choose?

no agenda, just curious...

So good that he wasn't even the best PG in his conference and lost out on the ACC-POY to the other gritty unathletic floor general in the ACC.

To answer your initial question tho about ath/cores...depends on the position. I'd want the more ath per players but I'm fine to sacrifice a little ath in big men to get jacked cores.

WTF...lostmyth is TerpBE? No wai. Can't be. No way TerpBE would coach at UNC...anywhere...right?

Great athlete. You can teach the cores. You cannot teach athleticism. It's the root.

you can teach athleticism in HD

My definition of athleticism probably differs from that of HD. I actually think there is room for improvement--agility drills, etc--so I probably was too quick to make that comment.

For me it's reaction time, eye-hand, speed, agility, power, jumping ability, the ability to start and stop and change direction, and balance are a few things that come to my mind.

I know HD isn't that in-depth because speed and durability are separate categories.
