But if I were the Rangers, it would be okay to draft the full-season of Cliff Lee that has the Rangers name attached to it?  Or would I just be limited to the 108 IP that he pitched for Texas?

And if the full season is available for the Texas owner, could the Phillies owner *also* use the full season of Lee?

Yes.

So just to be clear, the Rangers have a full, 212 inning season of 2010 Cliff Lee available to them, as do the Mariners (and of course each team has their partial season to use, too)?  So there could be two full seasons of 2010 Lee's, two 2008 Sabathias, two 2004 Beltrans, etc. in the league, or am I way off?

I hate to be a pain about this, but I'm just trying to get it straight because it would drastically affect my big board of what teams to use.

Yes, there would be two 2010 Lee's available to be either protected and/or drafted.

Gotta say - the owners at the bottom of this draft order are getting really screwed - there are only so many good teams to choose from in the 100 mil league and there is little if any advantage to where we may get to pick in the 110 mil draft as compensation.....
With that said:
16th at 100mil

I agree completely MnH, so I'll take #17 in the $100MM league.

I agree with the 2 prior gentlemen...with that being said, I'll take #18/$100M league.

I've played in Rule V drafts before and am always drafting in the bottom 3 or 4 spots and have made the playoffs every time.  And in those leagues, we could protect 5 and could only draft 3 players (with a max of 2 per team per round).  And that was with 120M cap.   The more liberal rules favor the weaker franchises.

I was worried about the depth of available teams at first, too, but after doing further research I don't see it as much of a concern.  I have a handful of teams that I see as clear cut favorites but the drop off from them to the next tier of teams isn't nearly as wide as I expected.

early selection seemed like more than a small advantage to me too. It will be interesting to take a look at the final results by team selection position.
salary cap is an equalizer and the 4 rounds of raiding helps too. I dont like drafting by winning pct because some teams are better Sim choices than their win/loss record would indicate. I think there would be less complaining if we Rule V drafted in the reverse order of team selection.

Ahh, but therein lies the strategy.  In my experience, picking a franchise with a poor win% and drafting early every round is often more preferred than getting a good franchise and picking late.

thanks for leaving me some 100 mil slots, guys.

I'll take lucky 19 in the 100 mil.
