Round 2 - 120M Theme One Hall of Famers Topic

A question.  Now that Rose has been slotted into 1b/3b, does that mean we can only use him at those positions?

You can use any player at any position.

I think the biggest problem with having more variety for the hitters is the < $1m requirement as that excluded alot of players who didn't have either a really short rookie or an injury plagued season.

I think that will help diversify the teams.

Ironically, when I first came up with the Round 2 themes, I was going to include a "Big Dick" theme.  It appears this theme will essentially be that.

For those not familiar with Big Dick, we would each select one player, including season (24 players).  We'd all have to use the exact same 24 players.  We'd get to select our own 25th player and ballpark.  So in essence, the competition was more on in-season management and in-game strategy than drafting skill.  It was named after Dick Hall, one of the players selected in the first season of Big Dick.

It's a shame that there are were couple of players selected for this theme where their max salary is on the low-end for a 120M cap.

Why don't we replace them?

People are allowed to change their selections.  But I'm not going to require them to do so.

You have to have this rule.  Otherwise, players without a low salaried season will almost certainly be used as a starter, forcing another player at the same position to be relegated for the bench.

It's definitely for the best that you didn't go with Big Dick.

You could of allowed a 300k exception but I guess that would of defeated the purpose of the community theme (but really who's gonna use Tony Mullane in a meaningful role ).

This strikes me as a little similar to the Franchise tournament last year where the cap is going to be so high relative to the available talent with so many similar teams that there's going to be enormous parity and the smallest advantages in team management will make the difference. I'm not sure whether that's a bug or a feature; AlleyViper and I did win that tournament, after all.

I'd like to throw in a guy who should be in the Hall... Bob Caruthers - SP

I'm actually going to change my pick from Pedro to Craig Biggio

Come on, I was planning to let Mullane compete for the groundkeepers job. Certainly won't let him pitch at this cap. Nor will anyonme else outside a mop up role.

Caruthers doesn't have a pitcher season less than $1M.
