has he been drafted yet?  Did dh just break the first two rules of fight club?

edit: Oh, I guess he literally just drafted him.

I also guess that robo doesn't know what XXXIX means and/or thinks that people remember who everybody had on their team.

I also guess that I should hold a patent on KJ since I won 4 titles with him in this league.

really? 4 with kj?...dont get me wrong...im thrilled to have him but i didnt think he was a game changer like that....96-97 each time im guessing? and what round did you usually draft him?
5/14/2012 6:46 PM
Really. 96-97 each time.  I'm pretty sure I took him in round 3 every time.  I won twice with him & Barkley and twice with him & Howard.  I actually drafted the same SL two seasons in a row (howard, nater, murphy, guy-not-drafted-yet, KJ).

In fact, I've never used that KJ and failed to win the championship in any league.

Here's why KJ is so amazing:  Tier 3 usage.  55% efg%.  100ish 3pm.  Compare his ability to get to the line to any other PG that has at least 1 3pm per game.  Add in the low fouls, the 30+ ast% and reasonable turnovers... his only downfalls are defense (I've never given a great deal of concern to this and my record speaks for itself) and boards.

I haven't used him in a long time, though.  I've been favoring lower usage, higher efg%/rebounding PGs lately.  Also - coley or glen kept taking him early and ******* me off (lol).  I wanted to try Nash this time because of the 60% efg%, but I still think KJ is better overall than any of the Nash seasons available.  If Nash had been gone, I was going to use (hasn't been drafted yet) or KJ.

oh yea....i kinda remember that team now...i was in the league for at least one of those teams titles...i wish we had a record of every odl like zizzo does with the regressive league

Well that (Alvin Robertson) was either the smartest or the dumbest pick I ever made. Either way it gives Ash the opportunity to hate on my team so I like it.
5/14/2012 10:38 PM
Robertson is actually one of my all-time favorite players, so I can't hate on that.  He does give you some massive rebounding (especially on the offensive end) in the back court.
5/14/2012 10:41 PM
He was the best creb + assists that I could fit. No 3's and fouls too much but the steals compensate....maybe. Two 90+ defenders in the backcourt for a lot of minutes, if it is worth anything. Would have gone 180 degrees different and taken Mike Miller, but was spared the  agony of decision making.

his 89-90 & 90-91 seasons give you a little break on the fouls & turnovers... and one of them actually gives you a few threes... like 1 every other game or so.  I've always wanted to use his 301 steal season but haven't since i learned how to actually play this thing.
5/14/2012 11:05 PM
I really wanted to use that season too, but will go with the higher creb + assist season just to save a little money for my bench. Still on the fence about a cheaper Duncan season.

I have noticed people consistently cutting tight on their minutes, which may be 100% of the reason I always seem to come through the last few games of the season, whatever division I am in.  Anyway if you are not 19.5k minutes going in, you are asking for it.
5/15/2012 10:23 AM
if your main rotation guys are good enough you can get away with under 19.5k mins...i won my odl title with just over 19.2k mins and made the playoffs last year with only 19k....in fact just about all my odl teams have been under 19.5 and i usually do just fine....it really depends on the players

of course you always want to shoot for 19.6....100% is still better than 97%....you def can get in trouble around game 10 and if you dont manage your mins right

Oscar Robertson 62-63 Royals PG 23.6 55.3 34.6 54.3 5.9 14.2 22.7 1.8 1.1
Peja Stojakovic 03-04 Kings SF 24.0 51.4 43.3 56.6 3.1 13.4 6.8 1.5 0.2
Elton Brand 06-07 Clippers PF 24.7 53.0 100.0 53.3 10.1 17.6 10.6 1.2 3.6

Bill Russell 65-66 Celtics C 14.0 42.1 0.0 41.5 12.2 29.8 12.1 1.3 3.7

This team has some crazy rebounding 43% Oreb and 105% Dreb.  The TOs and Fouls are on the low side.  Got three solid scores with two rebound monsters.  Not my usual team (as Robocoach pointed out).  I'm pretty sure this team will do well but we will see if its a championship team...

That is a NICE squad, leibo.

The more I think about it, the more I like the Thief pick, robo.  I forgot that you had Murphy, so Alvin's offensive rebounding helps make up for Troy's lack and Troy's prowess behind the arc makes it okay to have a guy like Robertson who doesn't shoot from back there.  I still don't like that Payton is the highest usage on your squad, though.  Too bad his best season(s) all are more than 26 usage because you'd love for that Duncan to be your highest usage.  13 usage points - nice.

Loving my squad. Lots of high EFG guys. Boerwinkle and Ray in the paint. Durant as a dominate scorer, Ruland as a high EFG post clean up guy. Porter, Durant, Boerwinkle, and Ray all play a little bit of defense.
Other than Melo going before I could take him with Ray (wanted him to ensure that I stay out of usage penalty), this is pretty much the line-up I plugged in after picking Durant. And I did not think Ray would last until the 6th (scud behind me had him as a proxy, so he would have been drafted.)
