yeah well once you factor in playoffs wirth gets the nod and it's not even close.

you don't need to replace the ~160 PA difference with a very high level of performance to bridge the gap between wirth and riley though, if we're just talking reg season.  i still lean in favor of wirth in that scenario.

Isn't the creation of runs important?
Of course it is. But RC doesn't take lineup into consideration.

What good are singles and SB if the guys around you aren't driving you in? It just so happens that Wirth is playing on a much better offensive team than Riley. So Wirth gets credit for playing in a pitchers park, but Riley gets no credit for playing with fewer tools around him.

I'll take 60+ HR and 135 RBI over a singles/SB guy any day of the week.

riley's owner seems to be a tool

I'm not sure anyone gets 663 AB in the playoffs.   Perhaps we can stick to the discussion at hand.

663 AB from Riley > 480 AB from Wirth and 183 AB from slugs like Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Hughie Hegan.

Well, yeah, if you value 40 steals in 40 games over .280+ in OPS over those same 40 games.

Except, well, it's more like 12-13 steals in those 40 games.

ops is an aids stat

SB is a stoner stat.

i don't get stoned these days, i only get elevated

Then you'd know 180 AB is about 1/4 of a season.   Taking an elite player out of the line-up for 40 games is a pretty big hurdle to overcome.   Now, if you want to argue that Riley or Wirth aren't elite or that Hegan is on the same level, I'll pay for your rehab  .

Just trying to get you and zbrent to focus.

"If I had to decide between them for one AB, in the 5th inning of a 4-2 game, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, one out and a lefty on the mound in Colorado Springs....."
