Easy small fixes to 3.0 Topic

The second one I just mentioned would make the job change less painful, as at least you could have a chance at landing a decent player or two in the second period.

"No players sign in the first 2-3 of cycles of the second period" so that coaches who totally f up in the first period aren't penalized for their ineptitude. That is a truly bad idea.

Make it to where a new player that signs up during a season can take over their team before the second recruiting period.

No players sign in the first 2-3 of cycles of the second period so that new coaches don't keep unlocking players in the same period that they sign.
Very good ideas Chapel. At least first cycle should be signing free.

I think that changing the cycles when players sign is beyond simple and easy. Potentially significant ripple effects of such changes. NOT that I disagree, but would need lots of careful study compared to several truly simple and easy glitch fixes discussed in this thread.

While agreeing with spud isn't very popular, this is a D1 only "fix". It actually hurts D2 teams trying to sign D1 players and D3 teams trying to sign D2 players. So, basically, it hurts 2/3 of the user base. How on earth is that a good idea?

The reason it's unpopular is because Spud usually can't see past his own nose. He also can't let go his hatred for D1 coaches or the 'demagogues' of HD (or whatever he called them).

But I think you missed Chapel's point. It wasn't meant to help D1 coaches, it's meant to help people taking new jobs. You're already way behind the 8 ball during a job change, this would help a lot.

And many people have agreed that having people move up instead of parking is good for HD. The system for moving up should be improved if you want that to happen more frequently.

I didn't really miss his point. My point that it hurts nearly 2/3 of the user base stands. D2/D3 pulling down next level players will be hurt by delaying signings. That's a no ifs, ands or buts.

Do you disagree?
6/1/2017 8:38 AM
clearly not an easy or small fix
6/1/2017 8:42 AM
No, it is not. Anything that effects 2/3 of the users negatively is not "small".
6/1/2017 8:44 AM
Agreed it is not a small change.

I don't think it HURTS 2/3 of the users. Hell it actually HELPS new D3 coaches who now don't need to compete against teams pulling in monster classes. Closes the talent gap.

You've used that argument before. It's invalid. The veteran users are going to get the better players no matter the guidelines. . You know this, I know this, everyone knows this. Stop using that argument.
