Your count is no more accurate than this years census. The bias is clearly showing. Just which "people" are being oppressed today? The Jews or the Palestinians? On a global basis I just don't see the Jewish people being all that oppressed anymore. Of course there ain't many of 'em round these parts.
They's actually scarcer than Indians.
You don’t know as much about history as you think you do. I count you as one of the 2 I can’t define.
I'm certainly NOT any Historian, and in fact most of the knowledge I do possess (historically) is centered around the clash of cultures within Apacheria (and the general southwest) during the so-called "settlement" of Arizona (and New Mexico). As that "clash" was interrupted by our OWN Civil War a certain amount of knowledge was gleaned about that conflict as well. Thus, any historical conclusions I might make are based on the actions of the "peoples" (and Gov't's) involved within that clash.
It's quite easy (at THIS point) to conclude which culture acted in the manner that they did, and in large part WHY they acted and re-acted as they did.
It's also rather easy (for ME) to conclude where the failures of understanding (you can read that word as ignorance if you wish) resulted in cultural arrogance and criminal activity (such as extermination policies!) being committed upon the other (generally trusting) culture. What makes the Apache war(s) so different is that the Apache fought back, and for a time (as OUR Gov't's attention was diverted) actually achieved success in regaining control of their territory. So much so that, OUR Gov't sent out TWO separate and distinct peace commissions in attempts to secure peace with the Apache.
The 2nd one, (under General O.O. Howard) achieved and secured peace, along with a treaty with the Great Chief (Cochise) of the Chiracahua, establishing a secure Reservation with distinct boundaries, and gaining the re-opening of the travel route thru Apache Pass and appointing the wise Taglito (Tom Jeffords) as the Agent in charge of the Reservation. You can easily read about what happened after Cochise died and OUR Gov't broke it's word (again!) to the Indian people.
As far as you not being able to define me. TY. I'm very proud that you can't.
I'm not sure I could adequately define myself with just letters from a keyboard.
I'm a human........ with a heart and a mind.......... and I TRY to use Both.
Peace out. Walk in beauty.
