8) PBandJ - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tyrese Haliburton, Tyson Chandler, Klay Thompson, Andrei Kirilenko, Tyrese Maxey, Kenneth Faried
This is an interesting team. You can stretch your position effectiveness a bit to ensure Chandler and Kareem swap. A little bit more to ensure Klay and Haliburton swap. At first glance, I thought you would really struggle with boards, but the numbers you posted in the forum are not as bad as I thought they would be. That makes me wonder which seasons you are using of Kareem, Tyson, and AK. Maybe Faried is starting which would def help. Are you using the short minute monster rebound Faried, if so which Kirilenko are you using? Individually there is plenty to like in the starting 5 you drafted, I just do not see the 5 mixing and matching. I could very well be wrong, but I am thinking Lottery for this team.
7) gerryred - Michael Jordan, Nic Claxton, Bam Adebayo, Mitchell Robinson, Richaun Holmes, Jalen Johnson, Larry Nance Jr.
I feel like if someone drafts MJ, they then draft Claxton and Bam. It just has to happen and so it always happens. I like Robinson as a third big for you and I like Holmes very much. Jalen has an interesting new season and gives you a crazy amount of boards in your starting 5. You definitely have rebounds covered and MJ can cover your best PG/SG/SF, which is ideally what you want. Two good defenders to cover your starting lineups flexibility is key. I will probably play -2 every time I play you, which will hurt you in the playoffs. This is a Pretender that I fully expect to have Mark Price on the roster.
6) uptowngbv - Luka Doncic, Christian Wood, Marcus Camby, Serge Ibaka, Shawn Kemp, Thaddeus Young, Isaiah Stewart
Best rebounding guard team in the league right here. I have always thought Luka and Wood would make a fun guard combo and then you back it up with the crazy Young season. Camby/Ibaka/Kemp. You will be locking the 3-5 positions down with those 3, and maybe foul a few times. This is a fun team, but man you are going to give up some points from the guard positions. Chewys team might set records against your guard combo. While I really like the guard rotation, because of how fun it is, I just do not think there is enough on this team to get you into the playoffs. You might outrebound amerk by 30 rebounds though. Lottery this time sir.
5) longtallbrad - Nikola Jokic, Bill Walton, Victor Oladipo, Brent Barry, Donyell Marshall, Kyle O’Quinn, Jusuf Nurkic
Outside of dh, when I think of the 52, LTB always come to mind. You have been a staple in this league for a long time. Recently, I do not think we have seen the historical success we are used to seeing, but I think this team will get you over the hump. The Jokic and Walton start is just flat fun. The IRL thought of those two playing together should put a smile on any basketball fans face. I do not have historical ADP to review, but I feel the 3rd might be a bit early for Oladipo. Do not get me wrong, it is a fantastic season and should be in someone's starting lineup in every draft league, but I wonder who else you could have gotten at that spot and say draft Oladipo next. Barry is a great person to put next to Victor, but I do wonder if there was another option that would help decrease your TO% more than Brent offers. Donyell is a great #3 and now you have plenty of 3s. O'Quinn and Nurkic are good backups for this team. I think this team might have a lot of turnovers, but I think you are back in the playoff bubble with this team, just not in the championship window. Pretender for the long one.
4) dakjd901 - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Andre Drummond, Donovan Mitchell, Domantas Sabonis, Gerald Wallace, Jalen Suggs, Brandan Wright
I am not sure what is going on with this one. Giannis plus Drummond is a crazy rebounding start and I like it. Donovan is a great scoring guard. Then we add in Sabonis. Is Sabonis your 6th man? I hope so. I prefer the better rebounding Giannis, which is a PF. I do worry there is too many minutes of Sabonis/Drummond's combined 84 defense on the court in the post. A backcourt of Mitchell/Wallace/Suggs is nice, but Wallace wont cover Mitchell's position so your PG is on an island in the playoffs which can be trouble against the best teams. I like Wright and dont mind starting him for 13 minutes at SF. Not enough here for the playoffs, I am going Lottery.
3) dontburnearl - Steph Curry, Karl-Anthony Towns, Bill Russell, Scottie Barnes, Ben Simmons, Marquese Chriss, Clarence Weatherspoon
I have typed and deleted several times for this team. It is something, but I cannot figure it out. Curry and Towns are a fun start. Man that is an efficient offense to start. 2 guys that can drop 40 at any time. One way to ruin that efficiency is by drafting Bill. Plenty of minutes, tons of boards, great defense, but the usage is just higher than I want. I remember the days where everyone fussed about his defense. His defense got better, but I do not see where his teams got any better. Scottie doesnt know that his new season is quite fun! I am not a Ben Simmons fan, but he is a good pairing with Steph. Chriss is always a good SF when everyone else is gone and Weatherspoon might give you too many SG minutes so I am guessing you slide him back over to SF. Overall I would have liked to see some more paint scoring outside of Ben. Pass on Bill, get Kemp or Mourning later and I think I would have liked this team better. Lottery this time for earl. Speaking of Earl, I used to watch My name is Earl and I still remember him saying, "Whoever said laughter is the best medicine never had gonorrhea.". Wise words and always stuck with me.
2) dh555 - LeBron James, John Stockton, Artis Gilmore, Bobby Jones, Amare Stoudemire, Desmond Bane, Robert Covington
What is this team and how did Desmond Bane get drafted in WIS circa 2020? DH ran this league for a long time and I doubt during his commish tenure he ever saw the first five picks on one team. Rule #1 of WIS, LeBron is a Point Guard. Wasn't this rule created before Stockton started dropping like crazy? Do we need to update Rule #1? Might be early to drop the rule, but I am excited to see how this team performs. Gilmore in the third is pretty sweet. Depending on which season you are going, you have Lebron and two tier 2 specialists that are really really good at their specialty. Add in Bobby Jones and dh is getting chubb by this point. Lebron and 3 specialists who all do their specialty really well. Next DH goes and drafts my favorite forgotten player. I love the Amare season and still think it should get drafted regularly. Bane and Covington provide you what you need with any LeBron team, some extra 3s. They were great that late in draft. Enough slurping. I am going to have to ding you where I dinged others. Bobby does great at the 3, but there is no need in having him if you do not adjust your effectiveness so that he can cover Amare. Amare definitely cannot be on an island in this league, it just wont work. As much as I like this team, i do fear this team is not clean enough, come playoff time, to overcome some of the rebounding deficiencies it will face. I am going Pretender. Good luck dh and give me #1 in savage so I to can have Lebron.
1) riftonapple - Wilt Chamberlain, Kyrie Irving, Chet Holmgren, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Anderson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Kevon Looney
I have never met a more patient drafter than Rift On Apple. He is like a silent killer. Sits back during the draft, laughs at others mistakes while not sharing opinions, takes his time when it is his turn, and murders his competition. Well, some of that is true. He crushed this draft. Freaking crushed it. Harell/JJJ is 48 minutes of SF that I love. Kyrie and a Slo Mo/Looney back court is pretty nice. Chet just goes with Wilt. it is a great pairing and it is what a governor wants and what a governor needs, and this pairing has made apple happy and set him free. This is a legit Contender.
Overall, I just gave initial thoughts when I went through rosters. There will be stuff I missed and hopefully no one takes my views the wrong way. I have always viewed evals as an opportunity to read someone's insights and to see if there is an opportunity to adjust how I view things. Hopefully, I offered an insight somewhere. Ultimately, in the 52, I think you need plenty of rebounding, but have the defensive flexibility to ensure that a teams best guard and best F/C is always covered in clutch minutes. If you do not load up on rebounding, you must remove the towels from your teams. I have not had a history of success in this league, so my opinion holds very little value. Good luck to all the governors in this league and I truly hope everyone in my division sucks.
Championship Predictions - riftonapple over chewy3344, assuming they are in different divisions. If they are in the same, I am giving it to the apple man
