I have an Excel file of every NFL WIS defense; 6 ratings and cost.. I could post it here .... if I knew how to do so.

This is from an excel stat page I made once.

Open your Excel page - left click mouse and drag across the content - then right click to copy - then right click again to paste it here. Usually works like a charm

Well , *IF* interceptions cost that much, I would never buy them. But of course they and sacks are the cheapest ratings to "buy".

I don't know *IF* my team or any team has ever lead the League in Red Zone pick 6's . But, that would be a defensive secondary, 2nd to none . We may open a Big D League soon, looking for our Commish currently ... short list - tomhanrahan

obviously a league full of all '42 Bears defenses, is not the plan.
But, tapping into the 32 to 24 mil Defensive market there is a treasure trove of little used D's.

Tomhanrahan and I were just in an open league where three of the final four teams all paid 28M or more (we were two of them). It was fun to see for a change.

You guys rep the 50 mil Brand well, no matter what the budget is. We have 14 seasons together what's one more big endeavor gonna hurt.

Our All Star Clash is a theme league idea from a couple years ago.

Dan's plan,

I have always been disappointed that one of the easiest paths to success in open league format is to spend bare minimum on K, P, and ST and very little on Defense.

I’m not saying you can’t win with defense in open leagues. Many, including myself, have had success with putting a real defense and a mediocre offense, but it is clear that the simplest path to a winning record to spend as much as possible on offense.

This league is designed to be a place where all three phases, hopefully, come into play. At first, I thought about a minimum needing to be spent on each of Def, ST, K, and P but worried that would make all the teams too similar. So here is what I landed on trying for this first pass:

League rules:

  • 65 Mil league
  • Def + ST + K + P > $30,000,000
  • All Offense, therefore, <$35,000,000
  • No clones
A Series FYI,
At the end of this 50-59 mil Series there will be a All-Star Clash League. Take your 15 drafted players and pump up their salaries and bring your best drafted units along and make one last team at 65 mil.

Like the idea, but still way too tame.

Make offense less than $30mil. (Smiley face)

Under the original plan, one could pick a $23mil D and get over $30 with half decent St and kickers.

That was actually my original idea - keep the cap at 60 and make the Def+ST+K+P>$30M. To be honest, I just figured I would be lucky to get 5 owners that way.

If we get any other voices interested, I’d be happy to go either way.

Since, this is the last league in the Series and free or comped. I want it to roll as danpsull71 had planned. I may draft a little more D for the 59 mil league knowing I can use that D again in the All Star Clash.

sounds good :)

Our official team count is 18 of 24 IN, with offers to help fill at 3 that's 21-24. Still looking for a couple more 50 mil members to use their promo code and the invites to bring in the deal closers.

I'm in for 2

I have a question. Do I have to draft starters? Can I draft a back up RB and find my starter out of the leftovers?
