Are you allowed to take a starter and a sub from your assigned year for a particular position and not take a utility player for that position?

Yes no one is required to use a Utility Player ... All your Position Players could just or only be the Random Years assigned to Catcher -- 1B -- 2B -- 3B -- SS -- OF with multiple picks from those years ... But obviously the Utility Players are for you to use as a sub or a Starter
