Once again, we start a new series on the overnight. This time we are playing one the road against the Thespians, who we have beaten 9 straight times so far this season. Let's see if we can go undefeated at 12-0 against them for the season. The way we are going we'll probably lose the series. First game we are facing Billy Rhines (11-21, 4.22). On the mound for us will be Roy Mitchell (14-6, 3.54). At one point he had his ERA under 3.00, so Roy has been fading some over the past 6-8 starts. We'll see what he has left.

The Thespians would cure any team's ills. We just pummeled them 16-2. Two 4 runs innings and then an 8 run top of the 9th. Roy Mitchell goes all the way for his 15th win. Rhines gives up 8 runs and takes the loss. Tanner Scott gives up the other 8 runs in 2.1 innings. His 50 fatigue may have hurt:-)

Seven different Rebels hitters had 2 or more RBIs, and 6 Rebels hitters scored 2 or more runs. We had 6 doubles and a HR. We had 21 hits and drew 10 walks.

2. Roy Cullenbine - double HR, walk, 2 runs, 2 RBI

We finish of the Thespians series with a 10-6 win. That's like a barn burner for the Thespians at this point, only losing by 4 runs. Too close for comfort for us as well. Corridon goes 6 for the win, but we had to use our setup guy Alcala (17 pitches) and our closer Fetters (27 pitches) too. Now they both will be fatigued for the next game where we might need them now that we are not playing the Thespians anymore. Bouton took the loss and fell to 7-26, but they used a bunch of relievers who were all at 100 for fatigue.

We led 5-0 after the top of the 4th. They got one in the bottom of the 4th, and 2more bottom 6 to make it 5-3. Each team put up a stick in the 7th and did not score in the 8th, so it was 6-4 going to the 9th. We put up a 4 spot to make it 10-4, and then they got 2 in the bottom of the 9th.

As usual, we will start another 3game series on the overnight. We are hosting LA Suckerpunch, who swept us last time out, the only 3 or 4 game series that we have ben swept in all season. Midnight Outfield has caught them as both teams are now 75-60, which is one game better than we are. Krozen's has been the hottest team in our league the last 10 games, and are now just 4 games behind LA and MO in third place. Us and Krozen's have the longest current winning streak in either league right now at 4 games, but we just played the Thespians, so it doesn't mean much.

Tonight's series opener has LAS throwing 1963 Koufax (20-11, 3.30) at us, the first of 3 straight lefties we will see in the series. We are going with Lou Fiene (0-1, 8.71) as our regular starters are pretty fatigued right now and we needed a spot start from someone to give the other guys more rest before they pitch again.

Boy did I read this game wrong. I figured facing Koufax with Fiene pitching that this was almost a giveaway game and we would try to win the next 2 games when we have better pitching matchups. So what happens? Fiene pitches the game of his life with 7 scoreless innings, and we lead 1-0 through 8 innings. Our bullpen gave the game up in the top of the 9th and we lost 2-1. Hellickson the win, Smoltz the save, and the loss goes to Fetters.

We got a run in the first on an RBI from Buxton as he hit into a force play. Nobody could score after that through 8 innings. Here is what happened in the top of the 9th with Fetters starting the inning on the mound.

So we lost the game because we walked the bases loaded and then hit a batter with bases loaded. We could have rallied to win the game in the bottom of the 9th, but a GIDP killed us...

Another loss to LAS. We just can't beat these suckers. This time it was 5-3. We were down 5-0 and scored 3 runs late. Billy Campbell wins it to go 16-16, and Smoltz gets his 38th save. Roy Mitchell takes the loss and falls to 15-7. Alcala pitched the 9th after we pinch hit for Mitchell in the 8th.

We got the tying run to the plate bottom 9 with 2 outs, but Dickey struck out to end the game. Garvey and Trammel each had 2 RBI. Agganis got the start at 1B and had a single, double, and walk and 2 RBI.

Series finale against LAS tonight as we try and avoid being swept again by the Suckers. George Kontos (0-1, 3.86) is on the mound for us, and LAS goes with Koufax (20-11, 3.26), who started game one. I would've expected Sutton to go as he's been the second best starter on the staff. The other 2 starters are weak, but I think it's a bit early to be using guys on one day rest.

Suckerpunch sweeps us again and ends up 10-2 against us for the season. This game was 9-4. They led 7-1 already after 4 innings. Koufax allows just one run in 7 innings on one day rest while Kontos gets his *** handed to him. 9 runs on 1 hits and 3 walks in 4.2 innings. Poncedelion goes 2 scoreless innings and has still not allowed a run this season in 19 games now covering 21 innings. Maybe I should give him a start.

Babe singled and homered with 4 RBI, and Dunn and Koufax also homered. Real life Koufax homered twice in 858 PA. And both were lefties, Spahn and Lemaster. Dickey homered for us, and Leach was 4 for 4.

Once again it's the start of a new series on the overnight. We play 3 games at the Red Sox. In the opener tonight we have Leever (5-4, 5.49) pitching. The Red Sox go with Rick Porcello (8-12, 5.79). I umpired a couple of Porcello's high school games, although I never had the plate when he was pitching.

So we lose to the teams that have something to play for, and then we kick the crud out of the bottom feeders. We just hammered the Red Sox, 14-1. We got 20 hits. Leever went 8 for the win. Porcello took the beating of his life, giving up 17 hits and 3 walks, good for 13 runs in 5 innings. His A went from 5.49 to 6.40.

We were up 11-0 after the top of the 4th. Bogaerts homered for the only run for the Red Sox. Simpson and Helms each with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Boudreau now up to 55 doubles.

Game 2 of the Red Sox series Tuesday afternoon, we will face NBA player, 6 foot 8 Gene Conley (4-8, 6.81). Conley was a 3 time champion player with the Celtics, and was a terrific rebounder, averaging 6.3 rebounds a game while only playing 16 minutes a game. We ae throwing Roy Mitchell (15-7, 3.51).

The Red Sox just crushed us, 15-5. Mitchell got bombarded for 6 runs in 1.2 innings. Gene Conley did not pitch well, but he got the win. The Red Sox got 26 hits. H. Ramirez was 5 for 6.
