Ummm, ok...what, am I not allowed to give my opinion? I just think it's kind of ridiculous how after beating the Penguins, the first thing Habs fans resort to is "Crosby Sucks" chants. That's how this whole thing started. What did I say that was so wrong?

Lots of talk about that on the Post-Gazette empty netters blog GM. I also agree wholeheartedly with kid about Gonchar. The 4th goal the Habs scored, he stood there like a pylon. Heck, our pp suffered with him, so we can do without him. What was his cap hit this year, something like $5.5 million?? Better to use that cash to re-sign Leopold and use the over $$$ to resign Cooke.

To me that 4th goal was the turning point. I was surprised Bylsma sent out Gonchar after that play. Whoever called him a pylon was insulting good pylons worldwide.

I don't have anything against Malkin, I just think they can move forward with Crosby and Stall as C1 and C2, perhaps Talbot or Letestu as C3, and get help where they need it in the form of a trade.

But lets face it. This wound is still very fresh, and I am likely not thinking all that clearly.

Let's see, in the first round, Ovechkin had 5 Goals and 5 Assists and was a +5. Against the same team, Sid the Baby had 1 Goal and 4 Assists and was a -1. But I guess he was spending all his time and effort making his teammates better because that is the excuse Pittsburgh fans always use to justify how he is a better player. I guess that "leadership" was when he committed a penalty 10 seconds into the game that ended up putting his team down a goal in the first minute, huh? I guess that was making his team better, huh?

Go home and count the cups that the Craps have won sluggo. Oh, and if you need a hint because you can't count that high, pull your pants down. That will remind you the number is zero.

hey sluggo...You know what Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman, Bobby Orr and Sidney Crosby have in common? They all won Stanley Cups and all of them also lost in the playoffs, probably to inferior teams on paper sometimes.

I guess the 1 Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold Medal, World Junior Gold, Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy and Lester B. Pearson (Ted Lindsay) Award, all at the tender age of 23 are not enough huh. Name one other player who had this much hardware at this age. Just 1. I didn't think so.

Crosby is not a God, and he's not the greatest of all time, but to suggest Ovechkin, who had all his points in basically 2 games in the first round, is a better player because of their stats in the playoffs is a little short-sighted.

Well, since hockey is a TEAM sport, all that proves is that is that Pitt has had better TEAMS. It has nothing to do with individual talent.

Since you can't read, you obviously missed the fact that the point of my post was that Ovechkin is better than Crosby. I guess, though, that you accept that claim since you didn't argue that point or bring up any legitimate come back. You want to call me names and claim that peanut butter is better than jelly, or something else equally irrelavent to my post?

Actually, you questioned Crosby's leadership and his ability to make his team better, not whether or not he was a better INDIVIDUAL player...

And further to the argument about leadership and captaincy, I guess you missed the part where I brought up the Stanley Cups, Gold Medals and World Championships as evidence that you were wrong about their impact on their teams. Was that not "legitimate" enough as a come back?

Now if you want to compare individual talent, that's another story, but since you so aptly pointed out, hockey is a team sport, and every Crosby team that went head to head with an Ovechkin-led team, NHL or otherwise, has won. That's all I need to know at this point in their careers to make a decision on who is a better leader.
