Niedermayer was the leader of Team Canada

#1, you are entitled to your opinion. #2, I didn't start the attack, you did when you addressed my hometown as "F*cksburgh". I personally can't stand Ovie. I think he is a cheap shot artist, which is evidenced by his suspension earlier this year. He doesn't need to be. But I'd take Sid, hands down, over any player in the game today. That much is open for debate. And yes, hockey is a team sport. Did Ovie have a better playoff than Crosby? Hmmmm, The President Trophy winning TEAM did not get out of the first round this year while blowing a 3 games to 1 lead against the #8 seed, and Crosby's stats in the first round were: 5 goals, 7 assists and was a +7. Sure, the second round stats that Crosby had against the Habs were worse than Ovie's. So what does that prove exactly? You like Ovie because he is part of the team you cheer for. I am the same with Crosby. I have never indicated that Crosby was a "God".

Oh, and the press did not have very flattering things to say about Ovie, especially your hometown papers, after your team's first round exit. Was I glad to see it happen? Of course, being a Pens fan. But I didn't attack your team in your thread.

You know better than that nick...great hockey teams are not lead by one player wearing the "C", they're lead by committee, much like the Canadiens so far in this year's playoffs. For example, just because Mark Messier, Craig MacTavish, Kevin Lowe and others didn't wear the "C" when 99 was in Edmonton doesn't mean they weren't leaders on that team. A letter on a sweater does not a leader make.

Crosby's first round stats are meaningless and irrelevant since it was against a different team. The only way to compare one against another is against the same competition. So basically, it proves that against the same competition, Ovechkin is BETTER.

Since you can't read, you obviously missed the fact that the point of my post was that Ovechkin is better than Crosby. I guess, though, that you accept that claim since you didn't argue that point or bring up any legitimate come back. You want to call me names and claim that peanut butter is better than jelly, or something else equally irrelavent to my post?

You know, I thought hockey was a team sport too, which is why I always wonder why I see Ovechkin waiting out at the center red line for a pass when his other 4 linemates are deep in the Washington zone trying desperately to gain possesion of the puck.

Gee, using that logic, Mike Cammallari is the best player in the game today, and Halak is the best goaltender sluggo.

to my fellow pens fans, a little bit of perspective:

Better a Pittsburgh Penguins playoff loss than a Kansas City Penguins Cup win.

At least that's how I see it.

Crosby haters and Ovechkin fans are never going to change their tune. Why bother engaging them? They don't want a productive debate. They want to hurl insults. Hardly worth the time or effort.

So what you are saying is Crosby wasnt the leader either then, he was just part of the committee?.. I would agree with that then on your counter agrument.. which then says your other argument was false

Not everybody who leads, are dominant players.. How do you know guys like Rivet are not great team leaders? They must have the C for a reason.. maybe its dressing room presence?
