Since 1997, nine college-aged men in LaCrosse, WI have drowned in the Mississippi River. All of them drunk.

There are some who suspect there is a serial killer wandering the streets of LaCrosse and targeting drunk college kids. Some detectives or whatnot from New York have even suggested that there may be a killer or killers covering the Midwest, with over 40 similar deaths during that period.

So what do you think, stupid drunkenness or evil serial killer with a grudge against drunk college kids?

I'd have to get a reading on what college-aged men in WI do when they get drunk. If swimming in the Mississippi is something drunk people do, I'd go with stupid drunkenness. However, if I turn up drunk and dead in a river, please tell the cops that it was a murder. But 9 in 13 years doesn't seem like a crazy amount.

Well the working theory is that somehow these guys are being lured to the river, because why would a drunk person head for the river, especially in the winter? (most recent drowning was last weekend).

If I'm not mistaken, you don't drink. Drunk people do all kinds of dumb ****. "Hey, I'll show you that a fatass Midwesterner can swim in the river during the winter!!! WATCH THIS!!!!"
