The Brewers have five Type B free agents, no Type A.

Cameron, Lopez, Weathers(??), Kendall and Looper.



More Hardy news.. the Reds were interested in him but Melvin didn't want to trade him within the division.

And, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that Matt Capps was offered for Hardy.



Harang was supposedly offered by the Reds.

I still find it sad that that was even in question at any point. The guy posted an ERA above 5.20, and they considered bringing him back!?!?!

He could post a 4.2 ERA in St Louis. Would be a nice pick up for us. Maybe 2mil for a 1 year deal.

Hardy is replaced by a (supposedly) better fielder in Alcides Escobar and there's no point paying $5M to a second-string shortstop.
