When it came up after season one, I recall dh’s and the overall consensus was that having five good teams was not more in line with the core premise of the league than 1-2 stacked ones and should be rewarded which is why the modification was made. I believe playoff scoring was also adjusted after season one.

The idea that there are two paths two winning was a pex theory laid out in season two that has proved to be true.

Luck of the draw does have an impact, but I don’t think any more impact than it does if your two best teams get placed in hell divisions or your worst team does getting placed in either hell or cake divisions. Take away the all five bonus and it just puts more emphasis on people needing luck with the draw on their best teams. Schedule luck is baked into WiS and the NBA really. Sometimes you eat the bar…

Speaking of getting WIS’d, jhsukow ended up 11.7 wins under what his point differential suggested after wildly exceeding it last season. I haven’t looked at his pbp enough to posit any theories better than karma.

I’m a bit of another funny anecdote, this is the first season I was not trying to do an all five strategy and is the first time I got all five in there.

In retrospect, with how consistent Dwight, Marion and Moncrief are, it makes a lot of sense.

All of this. I have personally experienced the two best teams in hell divisions cooking my goose as well to testify. There's no perfect way of doing this. I think it's as fair as it can be, but I have absolutely no issue with revisiting the scoring structure after this iteration is done. You still get 52 points for winning a single championship, so that's absolutely huge.

And unlike dbkc from last season, I'm not the favorite in a single league. There is a very high likelihood that someone else wins this thing.

Pretty disappointed in my effort this season. Got the gift of Shaq and finished under .500 overall and didn't have a single 50-win season. Probably slight bad luck having my best 2 teams in tough divisions, but really just didn't do a very good job at all in the middle rounds of the draft.

I think we should keep the 20 point bonus for getting 5 teams in the playoffs. Removing it would take away the incentive to create 5 competitive teams, which is one of the challenges of this league. Maybe the commish can comment if creating the FIVE best teams out of the draft was one of his original goals for the league when he established it. By taking away the 20 point bonus for having 5 teams in the playoffs, it takes away an interesting dynamic of the league. Then the only way to win the crown would be to win two leagues, and everyone should simply stack 2 teams with the best two seasons of all their players.

The random luck of the draw for divisional placement is a factor in every theme league. As long as the 24 owners are randomized before being placed in the 5 league team placement matrix, then it's as fair as it can be. Just my 2 cents, but if it's put to a vote, I'll be voting to keep the 5 playoff team bonus.

I DEFINITELY feel there should be a reward for getting five teams in the playoffs! In fact, I think it should be even higher. It is a goal of mine in each Savage so far, and I am super jacked that I was actually able to do it this season!

It takes a lot more strategy to try to keep all five teams strong enough to make the postseason, and I thought the original goal of this league was exactly that--taking players who could help you win using five different seasons! Accomplishing that feat should be highly rewarded IMO.

By the way, I'm glad everyone has had a lot of fun with Peggy, but let it go already! She was not a hooker. She was a 55 year old grandmother. And I am not seeing her anymore anyways. Enough already! Let it go!

No more Peggy?! Say it ain't so!... A once in a generation love lost, one which brought hope to the lonely hearts of dozens, and we can put this evil happenstance upon Covid... A great, large amount of WIS users have lost hope: hope that they could also find senior-citizen-nooky-fun time-lady.

For all of our mental health issues, and to develop our (speaking for all here, incl myself) terrible skills at talking to chicks, Amerk must court Peggy again. Soon after they're back together, her friends (Peggi? Peggases?), should be encouraged to get into this site, and feel free to capture and keep whichever male specimen attracts their eye.
