Well, trade value is a whole 'nother beast. Then health, age and contract plays into it, which I don't think is what we're measuring here.

My top 3 - excepting IP as you did - looks the same. But it changes from there.

2 Notes:

1) I didn't pull or verify these ratings at all, just used what deano sent me
2) This is heavily balanced towards pitchers who have the stuff necessary for playoff success, not regular season success

Fair enough, but if you looked at each pitcher, and ignored age and salary, Lee still comes out on top, imho.

Yup, the formula agrees. The hardest pitcher to figure into a formula turns out to be Alfredo Leary I think.
3/3/2010 10:01 AM
Dissing Alfredo will not help you prove your formula.

Esteban Olivo.

Hand picked, coddled, nutured by the Whiny ***** franchise.
3/3/2010 10:47 AM
I'm not dissing Alfredo at all, just the opposite.
3/3/2010 1:47 PM
He's not on your list. That's a diss.
3/3/2010 2:27 PM
I implied that he should be though, that the equation is at fault for not figuring out how to capture him. He's either the luckiest SOB ever, or the equation if faulty for not including him in the top 25.
3/3/2010 3:28 PM
Considering he has 3000+ IP, a Cy Young and 5 straight A/S appearances(and a pitcher of the week to start this season), I'd throw luck out.

FIX YOUR EQUATION AND QUIT DISSING ALFREDO!!!

Surefire, first ballot HOFer Jamey Cambridge finally hits #400.

J.Cambridge crushes a solo homer to RCF.

I brought him back since he had 399. He's actually hitting .342 in 79 AB. With the one homer.
