The Cardinals signed infielder Freddie Bynum. The 30-year-old spend last season in Japan, and is a career .234/.275/.379 hitter in 377 plate appearances, mostly with the Orioles and Cubs. He has experience at both middle infield spots and in the outfield.
Is the St. Louis GM taking personnel advice from Dusty Baker?

I hope they can pull that off.  I work next door to the site and would love to have more eating and drinking option downtown, gameday or not!  Plus I can watch construction from my office - it'll be fun to see it being put together.

Cris Carpenter - 3.70 ERA (I don't have a good feeling about him. Getting old...)

Season Prediction:

I'm not really sure. We were unlucky last season as far as our wins vs our run differential, so I'd consider last years team a 90win team. Did we improve any? Hard to say. Huge, meaningless downgrade at SS, aging Carpenter. Not really sure if Berkman is an upgrade over the platoon. Probably would have more efficient to save the 8mil and spend it somewhere else, but I am excited to see him in a redbird uniform inspite of myself. 90+wins? I'll go ahead and predict a 91 win season, missing the WC by two games to the Braves.
