So far Obama-care has not cost you a dime! Insurance rates go up with no help from the govt. but are the result of Ins. Co. greed. I spent 35 years in the business so I do know what I am talking about. Taxes are the price you pay for the privilege of living in this country. Border security? In Nevada? I have no problem with your concern about property right but you do know that this has been going on for a couple of centuries and BOTH parties are guilty. As to the right to bear arms? I am personally opposed but it is in the Constitution and would take a hell of a majority to get rid of it, so relax. An as for my reference to the chicken lady, I was not speaking about what she looked like, I was speaking to her idea that you should take a chicken to your Dr as payment of services. Appears you do not know as much about her as you think.

Obama care will eventually make all Americans buy Health Insurance. If you want to know what that will do to the rates, remember what happened to Auto Insurance rates when states made it illegal to drive a care without it. through the roof. Maybe you need another 35 years in the business.

Taxes are the price you pay for the privilege of living in this country. Exorbitant taxes are the price you pay for electing most moderates and liberals.

Border security? In Nevada? My neice was a victim of a latin American gang here in Georgia. So you actually believe they stay out of Nevada? Why?

BOTH parties are guilty. Which is why you should never vote party. It would do good for you and other Americans to learn is not about party, its about  the person. I.E. There is a good possibility I will not be voting Democrat or Republican in the Georgia Governors race. If Karen Handel(R) wins her primary, I may vote for her. Had DuBose Porter(D) won his primary I may have voted for him. I voted for Representative Jim Marshall(D) 2 years ago. This year I will vote to replace him with Austin Scott(R).

Why do poor people of D.C. and New York City have to be gunned down because they cant afford $500 a year permit, while the wealthy live behind bars and hire a gun? Just because you are poor doesnt mean you shouldnt be able to defend yourself.

Yeah. I do not watch very much news, because it is all just an editorial with a very slanted view. Like reporting that Angle actually meant that the we should take a chicken to pay for our doctor visit instead of realizing that she would probably like to introduce free market pressure to the health care system. so you probably do know more about her than I do. The question is do you know the important things about her and Reid? The things that make a good representative for the people of Nevada?

I am so glad that it is getting close to November. Its going to be interesting so see how the candidates supported by the Tea Party fare against the Dems, and how the old guard Republican candidates fare versus the Dems. It would be cool to see Pelosi beat the old guard and Reid lose to Susan Angle. I think the voter turnout will be much better in Nevada than in California.

Sharron Angle, not Susan. But I really don't think she has a chance, even against an incumbent as vulnerable as Reid. Having a media strategy of ******* off as many members of the media as you can might get you celebrity status on the national stage, but it won't help you win elections where positive local news coverage is gold.

Wow...I made a big mistake. I was told that the candidate supported by the Tea Party in California lost to the Republican brass's pick. I didnt check that out and I am wrong. Tea Party supporters in California pulled it off. There is a chance that Pelosi can be defeated. I just checked him out, and I really like John Dennis....lol...This is great. The Libertarians are taking over the Republican Party. It would be awesome to see both Angle and Dennis defeat the media to win seats in the House.

It's one thing to run against the "liberal media", in the form of CNN, the New York Times etc. The groundwork for that is decades old.

But Angle is trying that same shtick against Channel 7 Action News out of Boulder, and the Reno Gazette-Courier. Against an incumbent as entrenched as Reid, I think that's suicidal and idiotic. She should be courting the local media as part of an insurgent, "kick out the fat cats" campaign, not alienating them, especially when she's already being dogged by some inconvenient sound bites.

She's basically counting on the only people showing up at the polls being hyper-partisan, very politically savvy folk who get their info from non-traditional sources -- in other words, the Tea Partiers vs the Dem establishment, with the unaffiliated middle excluded from the equation entirely. It's a losing strategy, even in a midterm.

Your not raining on my parade. How are the policies that Reid has supported, helping the economy of Nevada today?

How do your feelings that Angle is a chicken lady factor in to help Nevada? Her physical looks are going to have an effect on Nevada?

Tea Party reality is:
Repeal and Replace Obamacare. (Reduces insurance rates)
Eliminate coverage mandates. (Reduces insurance rates and care cost)
Reduce taxes. (Maybe I can send Jr to college)
Border Security. (Enforce the immigration law or change it)
Private property rights. (City council cant give my land to Walmart)
Right to bear arms. (My poor friends in New York get robbed because they cant afford $500 a year for a permit)

Sharron Angle supports those realities. If you find them unintelligent, I support your right to feel that way.

Funny how "reduce the deficit and debt" isn't on your list, and in fact "reduce taxes" would make the deficit worse.

Until the Tea Party movement faces that paradox, they are not facing reality.

Thanks anton, we have all been waiting with anxious anticipation for your superior explanation of the facts. What would we do without your leadership?

Funny how you may be one of the rare few people that didnt realize that Tea Party supporters want to reduce the deficit first, cut taxes second. But if we can do both by a very drastic reduction of spending that would be spot on. Until all American citizens and corporations learn to get on their own or less, we are not facing reality as a nation. That includes programs to pay utilities, debt, payrolls, etc. If you cant get by on your own, you dont get a handout for failure unless you can convince the people who know you best. Your family, your business partners, your friends. It seems to me that Tea Party people are the people who are facing reality head on.

Retired Senator Sam Nunn(D)  introduced legislation years ago that we need. Every year, every citizen who pays taxes should get a reciept from the Federal Government showing how much money went into the budget and how much money was spent on which programs. Not specifically as in every program, but generally. Yes we can look it up, but everyone should be alerted with a reciept. The type of idiots who would vote against such legislation should never be in public office IMHO.

I'm just going by the list you provided of what you said the Tea Party's (and Angle's) priorities are. I'm well aware of the Tea Party's slogans, but when you made your list of what the Tea Party stands for, debt & deficit reduction was nowhere to be found -- unless you're claiming punting Obamacare (which you have to know isn't going to happen any time soon -- even if the Tea Party makes major gains in 2010 and 2012, the chances of them having veto-proof majorities in both chambers is about non-zero) would pay for tax cuts and increased border security spending and deficit reduction.

Again, you provided the list of "Tea Party reality". Your list doesn't even make an token effort at deficit reduction, on either the revenue or spending fronts.

Also, and I didn't notice it at the time, but nick's "chicken lady" shot has nothing to do with her looks. I assume he's confusing Angle with Sue Lowden, who handed Angle the Republican nom with her 'health care on the barter system' nonsense. But Angle's made plenty of dumb statements on her own -- her threat to sue Reid over her own policy positions after she scrubbed her website, for instance.

Awesome idea. There's so much that can and should be done to educate people on how all the moving parts of the government fit together. God knows no one in the corporate media is going to do it.

There is still some things about Tea Party vs Dems that Anton leaves out...

1 Abortion. Tea Party starts with 25%. Almost no one on the pro-choice side votes on that one issue. 25% on pro-life side vote that single issue. For the most part the Tea party is pro-life.

2 Less government is popular. Working class people who are moderates do not get much from the government. They want programs rolled back.

3 Just like Obama won running agianst Bush, Anyone can run against the Dems right now.

4 Local newspapers? This is your ace in the hole for Pelosi and Reid? Who actually reads newspapers?? I dont mean for the movie times or crossword puzzles, but for actual information.

The Tea Party movement is serious and committed. Motivation is a big factor in a mid-term.

Wow...what a coincidence. Another Conservative female is crazy!

Coulter, Palin. Rice, etc...

I wonder how all these women who have accomplished so much in their lives could all be razy and no one noticed until liberal pundits did??
8/2/2010 2:13 AM

The name calling and weird pictures come from the one percenters from both parties. Takes all kinds to make up the world.

8/2/2010 1:57 PM
You can feel this is going to be a big one for the Pubs. Liberal pundits are starting to do "What if" scenarios for the Pubs winning the House.
8/2/2010 4:16 PM
So if it is just the waco extremeists, why have Democrats launched a campaign against Conservatives using a handful of photos of posters.

This is the main democratic push....We have pictures that prove the Tea Party is full of violent racists! We have proof!

8 years of slamming Bush, and now the same people that were calling him a Nazi are outraged about 1 photo of Obama in a hitler mustache!

Can anyone else say hypocrite??
