If you really want to talk about a governmental profession that's underpaid, let's try police officers.
The average salary for a teacher in the US is $55,000 per year for essentially 9 months of work. The few meetings that you have to attend over the summer don't count.
The average salary for a police officer is $53,000 per year for 12 months and it is a MUCH more dangerous job.
@Wylie BDS' post is why I wrote this. You make logical, thought-out comments. Many people in your party do not as proven by BDS' dumbass comments. It's pretty obvious that many people on the left have a hatred for police officers. The Taint's and Wylie's are not the norm in the Democratic Party. You guys are definitely the exception.
if you actually appreciated police officers prior to 2015, you are also the exception. blue lives matter started as a defense mechanism for people who don’t support due process. if you really love people with zero accountability and the legal right to shoot you or your friends, well, then, you’re a masochist.
also you forfeit the ability to complain about speeding tickets, or any accusation made by the police against you. after all, they were just doing their job.
