Yeah but he said they all signed without a second demand. Which I have to say, I haven't seen that before.

One-time all-star catcher at 29 years old. Wants $5.2M for next three seasons (30, 31, 32). Health 57. Makeup 87. Power 73, Arm Strength 69. How many years do you sign him (and w/mutual option)?

Entirely context dependent. Who do you have in the minors? What's the league like - availability of replacements? Do you want to replace him with a free agent? Would he get more if he goes to free agency, or can you bring him back? Do you just plain want to keep the guy around? Where do you see him at age 32? And so on...

I have a comparable vsL catcher but not vsR. I think he will earn about the same amount in FA. I just don't know how long of a deal to go with catchers with these attributes and at this age.

Personally, I don't mind signing a C into his mid-30s - especially with a make up rating of 85+, but the above discussion is pertinent regarding replacement.

Edit: I would say up till age 33-34. Seems to be a drop off in power and arm after that age.

You had to bring up Max, didn't ya? Truth is I let him walk because I had too many catchers in my system; both on my ML team are first rounders which is kind of an overstock.

We’ll see if I can get anything for him next offseason. That power is starting to go down at an alarming rate and his replacement is pretty much good to go in AAA.

So if you have some good AA prospects who aren't playing in the playoffs, do you promote them to play in the AAA playoffs or do you wait until ML WS to promote to AAA in order to get a last promotion bump? The other option I guess who be to promote them to AAA and then add to the 40 and promote them to the ML roster to get final bump and then demote them back to AAA. Would lose an option but if they are legit prospects who are only 1-2 seasons away then it wouldn't really matter, right?

I'd promote to aaa so they still get playing time (assuming they WOULD). If I couldn't get them playing time I'd promote after the playoffs.

All things being equal with a base stealing setting of average, will my guys automatically attempt fewer steals against strong-armed catchers than against guys with noodle arms? Or should we be changing the base stealing aggressiveness based on the relative strength of the opponent's catcher?

Far as I can tell it has nothing to do with the frequency of stealing that you put in manager settings. It will only dictate how often the guys attempt to steal but with no other factors.

Your guys base running IQ is what will determine if they attempt against better or worse catchers and their speed will also be a determining factor in how often they attempt.

Any tips for improving chance at success for team offers during Arb2 and Arb3?

Also, what happens if it's the 7th inning and the only available pitchers are a SuB and two LRA? Does SuB get preference due to the inning? Also, if you have a SuA available but he's only 8th round or later, will the LRA go before him?
