They almost coughed up another game last night. Franklin deserved better, but Holliday can't master catching the ball. He's in a rut, not having any luck. Hopefully he finds that splitter, and some better location. TLR will get him some work to find his control and hopefully his confidence. TLR is trying not to ruin his young pitchers by having them fail too much. I was surprised that he left Sanchez in that long in the 9th, wasn't Motte ready? Perhaps TLR just wanted to test the kid... Boggs has good stuff and a mentality to be the closer. Perhaps Franklin can find himself and can push Boggs. It might turn out to be closer by committee for the rest of the season, and a healthy competition might be a good thing. Lots of good arms in the pen now. Another lefty would be a big plus, especially with Trever Miller struggling. He's only retired 5 of the 11 first hitters he's faced.
