my team is so young, i'm really excited about doing this in two years, i'll have 6 seniors and 5 sophomores. My conference is weak, so i can win right now even how young i am to some degree.

Get those wins and you'll be able to get that prestige up. You shouldn't ever have to worry about a poor Strength of Schedule so long as you are part of the Shootout. I'm fairly certain I've played 3 or more ranked squads in the shootout every season.

I have a senior SG that I am considering rescinding his schol

He seems to have maxed out and it would allow me to only have to recruit four instead of five next season and three this season. My question is will I get more money for the new open schol if I rescind it now??

No, you don't get any additional money for this season's recruiting.

Thanks andersaa! The fact that I have amassed many of those wins in Non-Conference against the collective body of coaches who participate in the Shootout past and present, makes the feat that much more satisfying.

Hopefully we'll keep this rolling through 500!!!

As we are a few hours away from beginning Season 22, and 2 days away from beginning the Shootout, just want to say Good Luck to everyone!

As always, we have great representation in the Top 25, with Rockford, Eastern and Rowan preseason #'s 6-8 respectively. Curry checking in at #14 and U.S. Coast Guard, the defending Shootout champ in at #19. Richard Stockton and Blackburn are also in others receiving votes.

Martin Luther is looking to continue its winning ways after posting the best season in their history in Season 21. Averett should be a competitive matchup once again and I'll be looking to get back to what has come to be expected at William Paterson...20 win seasons and NT berths.

First update of scores and standings will be tomorrow. Just looking at some of the scores though I see that we've had some exciting and tight games already.

reddevil, I know this is a tourney, but at what level? If my team is in that level, I would like to join and try to learn from more veteran coaches.

dakmecca...the Phelan Shootout is a D3 tournament. I see that you coach the D2 version of Anderson, so you are unable to join this tourney.

However, if you have any specific questions or would like to pick the brains of "veteran" coaches, I for sure, and I'm certain that many of the other coaches who participate here would be more than willing to help out via sitemail. Between my 2 IDs, I have extensive experience at all 3 levels of HD, and most, if not all of the current Shootout coaches have teams at D2 and/or D1 as well in other worlds.

So whenever you'd like, please feel free to seek advice here!!
