I actually think carolina can take Duke. There is a lot of talent on the Carolina team, although it has not fit together this season after all those departures. I have not seen them play in a while, but after that game against Wake, ya never know.....

and although it is a rivalry game, for the Duke players it is a bit of a trap in that they may take UNC lightly - while for Carolina this is a chance to make their season

I agree that they can beat them but probably won't happen. Especially since UNC's best player is on the sidelines.

As a fan and alum of UNC, Grevies Vazquez has been like a dookie to me and always seemed to play like one. I've despised him since his first game but since last night I have changed my tune. Sometimes! He can't get out of the moment. As a die hard Maryland fan I can say and I know I speak for many, he is hard to watch at times and one of the best ever to watch at times.

I grew up just outside of College Park and have always followed Maryland basketball. I think it is extremely embarassing that Terp fans can't control themselves when celebrating a win. It always leads to rioting in College Park and it is ridiculous.

Meh, that used to be the case back in say 2002. At this point its become more an issue with the College Park/PG County police department. What people are calling a "riot" was a bunch of kids spilling out of the bars into the streets - minor damage to public property at best (street signs being torn down, etc). And yes the kids that broke stuff should absolutely be punished. But when the cops show up in full riot gear with teargas, batons, shields, and horses you just know what's going to happen. If the cops did what the cops at other schools do (see UNC after the NC) and just cordon off the area and keep things from getting out of hand it wouldn't be a big deal. But these jacka$$ses need to feel bad-a$$ and justify the expense of their riot gear, horses and helicopters. They create the environment for confrontation.

We Maryland fans embrace the "proud to be a thug" reputation but let's not all believe the riot hype. Its just not true.

Aw shucks roy williams is a paul hewitt-caliber basketball coach. 7 burger boyz on his team and 5 conference wins. Wonder if any other coach has ever won less conference games than they have McDs AAs? Roy Williams - doing less with more!

Not to mention all the guys on the team that were ranked really high in high school who didn't make the McDonald's AA team. It's pathetic to think of how much talent is on that team and they couldn't mesh.

Late to the party here, but I'm a die-hard Md fan. Grew up in Md and my Dad and Uncle both went there (I went to a DIII school).

I was at the Duke game, as good a crowd as there's ever been at Comcastle.

And I've accepted that I'll never make it to Md in HD.

Got one half price after the Carolina fans came storming out. Hopefully we won't need another miracle 3 to take out Tech tonight.
