I personally like Murcer and saw him play a lot during his best years in the early 70's with the Yankees ... He's a good captain's choice as he also played with a couple other decent teams (Giants and Cubs, whose home teams are reasonably HR friendly) ... However, I believe that in Murcer's case, he peaked early in his career, as he averaged about .260 and could not hit over 15 HR's after 1977 and his skills on the filed by the early 80's were below average ...
