Just because someone has 25-35 titles does NOT mean that they know more about baseball, It just means that they are either;  1)  Luckier (like the office assistant who wins the NCAA pool, by picking winners based on the COLOR of their uniforms!) 2) they are a sim Favorite, or 3) they have the Cheat Codes, that give them a leg UP in most leagues!  Why is it that I have NEVER had WJohnson or PAlexander perform like themselves (HOF pitchers) for any of my teams (no matter what the cap size)?  Why is it that I have had 11' Cobb bat .242 in a season for me (600AB), or had 27' Ruth hit only 32 HR for me (over 600AB) in Atlanta Fulton County (The Launching Pad?) - because I am NOT a sim favorite & dont have the cheat codes!?  For me, after I have selected my players & seen other teams selections, the first 20 games have been played & my team under perform like Bushers...  the fun is OVER & that is enough to keep me going!  I like to see the JOKE sim makes out of the BEST players who ever played, by making them STINK up the place!  That is why I am here, to see the Weird, Odd, Nuts, Crazy & sometimes just plain STUPID stuff that happens - ONLY IN sim!

Sounds like we will have a lively owners forum.  your rant reminds me of the following exchange from the movie Private Parts:

Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.
Pig Vomit: How can that be?
Researcher: Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."
Pig Vomit: Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?
Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
Pig Vomit: But... if they hate him, why do they listen?
Researcher: Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

you come back for more even though the results bother you so, lol

I've done a few of these and usually try for under the radar guys.  Couldn't believe that Dean Chance, Jackie Robinson and Chuck Klein (among others) didn't make it out of round 1.

It is not good form for a guy with zero titles to criticize people with 25 or 35 titles. Watch how Johnny Podgajny performs and maybe you'll see why that no-name is one of the most popular RPs in sim open leagues.
NOT in this league, remember, Podgajny doubled up, for some reason?

Which season of his were you thinking of taking?  His BEST season was 1940 when he had a 2.83 ERA in only 38 IP, he has one season at 3.91 ERA & the rest are OVER 4?  Is it cuz of his 0.26 BB/9. there are MUCH better out there!  What is so special about him, his stats make him look like a scrubb to me & someone NOT worth taking?  NO joke & no DISS here, I really want to know why you would want him?
1940 Podgajny has 38 IP, which is the negative that made him last so long in this draft. Combine 0.26 BB/9 with zero HR allowed and a decent OAV and you have a great sim performer. If you want to have success, it is important to know how the sim operates. The sim has to account for players who played in different eras, so they modify the stats based on the specific season that the player played in. A guy with 30 HR in 2008 will not hit as many as a guy who had 26 HR in 1922, because in '22 HRs were more rare and 26 HR was a great feat. But in 2008 a lot of guys hit 30 HR. The sim normalizes the numbers based on this and other factors. For this reason, successful sim players look not at the actual stats, but the advanced stats to find the players they want to draft. A lot of people think the most important stat is the ERC#. This gives a better idea of how the player will perform in the sim than most other stats. Success in real life does not ensure success in the sim. After all, the players all have a different set of teammates, and more important, a completely different set of opponents. A pitcher's actual ERA is a virtually meaningless stat for the sim engine. You may think this is stupid, but it is the reality of the sim, and they have a reason for doing it that way.

Yeah, if only I were a little luckier I would have 35 titles. My picks are in.

I have the cheat codes. They only give them to special people.

If I started ~112 more OL teams, I am pretty sure I could have 35 championships.

I never cared for that movie, not because it was a bad movie, but mostly because I can't stand Howard Stern.  Personally, I find him boring.
