I got assigned Elgin in the Random Big 3 league this season. Using his '60 season, he's been my starting PG and has led us to a smashing 45-37 record, however, that gave us a first round bye. We're getting ready to start the conference finals after advancing 4-1 in the last round. Obviously that league is a very different animal, but still, it's something I guess. That year he is a 99 at point. The starting 5 only totals 38.6 assist%, ha! However, Elgin's 35.1 creb at point led to some nice lines.
He managed to finish 4th in the MVP race while shooting 39.9 percent from the field. Per game, he averaged 28.2 / 14.6 / 5.5. Most of his rebs were probably from his own shots. :) He's lighting it up in the playoffs - 31.8 / 14 / 6.6 and bringing that fg% up to 45.1. TIED WITH WILT FOR PLAYOFF MVP. Lol. The team finished last in the league in assists but first in rebs, at least. They only averaged 1.3 more assists per game than had turnovers. Staggering. Led the league in fta, though. Second in fga.
This team started the season 7-18...and is now in the conference finals. Only in Seble-merica!
Ok, now I'm done with my story that no one cares about. :) I just think it's interesting because I (and I'm guessing most people) haven't run a season with Elgin at point. So far, it's been a success.
Have fun, Smokey!
