Scouting could take some people more time. It could also take people the same amount or less time. I see both sides of the argument.
However, I think it's undeniable that recruiting takes way more time. I can see people cutting down on teams due to the new system. In it's entirety, it's without a doubt more time consuming (I'm of course assuming that you actually want to field a highly competitive team).
The last part in parentheses is spot on.
I agree with scouting and recruiting being more time consuming in 3.0 and that's why I went from 6 down to 2 teams (and will be leaving all together very shortly). Can you do it quickly in 20-30 minutes? Yeah, but you can't do it efficiently (in my opinion). Furthermore, preferences don't get updated until about 5 days before recruiting starts so I don't buy the 'you have 20 days to do your scouting' argument. And while 5 days seems like an eternity (especially compared to 2.0) to scout you then realize you need to look at which preferences you have at 'good' or 'very good' and then spend time figuring out which preferences nearby teams are going to have at 'good' or very good.' (And when I say nearby I mean within a 400ish mile radius). Maybe the last few sentences don't apply as much to D2 or D3 but they absolutely do at D1. The people who are going to get very good at this game will be the ones that can spend a few hours preparing for each recruiting session. Just my two cents.
