WHAT DO YOU THINK OF C.H.A.Z? Topic

As far as I am aware, government is legally allowed to address more than one issue per year. Someone should have told them.

You honestly think we are going to defend burning stores? Why does this even matter, all3?
I have spoken to several people (my own son is one) who defended the rioting and looting. Is it that much of a big step to defend burning down a Wendy's? I don't defend any of it. You riot, loot or destroy property, you are no longer a protester, you are a criminal.
How do you think revolutions happen? It is your white privilege that leads you to prioritize property over black lives. Defund the police. Say their names. No more innocent people shot for the crime of falling asleep at Wendy's. Black Lives Matter not white fragility!
Brings me back to my original point from a week or 2 ago.

If you can say all the names, it's not that many names. There are bigger fish to fry.
I'm still waiting to hear how looting and rioting ever saves anyone's life. (What dies it do to the lives of the businesses' owners and employees, who are many times black?)

As I pointed out to Coreander in another thread, the excess cost in black lives of covid19 from the past few months is already several times greater than the excess cost in black lives of police killings. Per decade.

If you actually cared about protecting black lives you wouldn't protest during a pandemic when it disproportionately affects minority communities. Yet every picture I see of chaz features very high human density and nowhere near 100% mask usage. It's a virtual guarantee that it's going to cost more black lives than it could possibly save.

Although realistically, if we're weighing lives against lives, it should probably be totals, not excess. I haven't seen a racial breakdown of deaths lately, but given similar ratios of cases and projecting to current fatality totals covid19 deaths among black Americans are likely closing in on 25000.

At current rates it would take the police about 60 years to equal that total.

I would agree that covid is a more pressing issue than the CJR's impact on black people. However, we can address both. And I'll save my judgement on the health effects of the protests until we get more data.

How will you get that data when it's actively being suppressed?

What?

Miss the story about De Blasio specifically telling his contact tracers not to ask anyone if they had attended a protest?

Guitarguy is Doug.

I doubt it. He only posts text. And I can tell what he's talking about. Whenever Dougie posts more than a sentence or 2 it turns into word salad.

Wow, that's weak. It's just in one city, and even in New York, we would expect to see a spike in cases after the protests.

Nice try though. You'll get me next time :)
