Since I have an outfielder now, I'll switch my player to Mickey Mantle.

If I understand all of the rules correctly, this should be interesting. The "Mick" has 16 seasons on the nose - I'm assuming that means that unless someone really wants to tie up a major portion of their CAP with the 1956 version (over $18M), someone is going to end up getting "stuck" with that version which will account for 15% of their payroll. Am I thinking correctly? If so, this should be exciting...lol.

I have him with 18 seasons. 1951 - 1968
Yeah, you're right. It's only 16 if you're searching for OF seasons. The last two were at 1B only.

My season will be 1958. I see what I did when I did the research - I was just looking at years he was an outfielder. 1967 and 1968 he's a 1B.

Thanks for taking a closer look schwarze.

since Hornsby is now a 2B, please swap me to the 1933 Hornsby. Thanks! :)
Which 1933 version? Cardinals partial or combined, or Browns combined?
Cardinals combined. We can switch at the end to partial if needed, correct? Thanks.

Nice pick. I strongly considered him.

I am switching my pick to 1953 Warren Spahn.

He's got a bunch of usable seasons that should do ok against the plethora of lefty batters.

Quick translation:

1) Let's take a cheap Robin Roberts and slide in to calhoop's division since he has a cheap Red Ruffing

2) calhoop switches to an expensive Lefty Grove

3) Let's switch to an expensive Waren Spahn so we can move back into calhoop's division

We see you

I just calculated the divisions. '53 Spahn is the fifth highest salaried nominated player, behind '33 Hubbell (pedrocerrano), '40 Feller (eblankenste), '31 Grove (calhoop) and ''46 Ted Williams (3dayrotation).

So you are safely out of my division.

I wanted to switch to a left-handed pitcher. Had I realized Howie Pollet had 16+ seasons, I would have grabbed him (nice pick redcped). Like I said earlier, I almost took lefty Grove, but didn't want to provide all those great 1930's A's teammates to everybody else.

As it currently stands, the average cumulative salary of the 16 players is roughly $88 million. It will probably work out to be less than that in reality since it's likely all the cheap versions of a player will get drafted, while some of the the more expensive seasons may not get drafted. But plan for about $30-35 million in teammate salaries. This should be fun. We get to use a lot of the studs that played in this time frame. Imagine if happyhours kept Foxx at 1B.
