#29 PF, #79 overall, *****; promised 15 minutes. James Eastland is the most highly rated player I've ever brought in to Fordham. He still fits the mold of a Fordham player, though, in the sense that he's got a ton of room to develop over the next few seasons, great WE, and decent FT shooting (unlike some of the guards I bring in). I really like him.

Eastland had a very nice career for the Rams, capping it off by accompanying Harrington to the 2nd Team of the All American squad. He never quite lived up to his potential in terms of offensive efficiency, but James Eastland was a damn fine defensive player. He's got a good shot at being drafted. I think it's almost a sure thing. We've got some okay replacements, though, so he won't leave as gaping of a hole in the frontcourt as Harrington did in the backcourt.

He wasn't anywhere near my first choice for my backup SF position, but he was at least someone I had kept an eye on from the beginning of my scouting. He suits my system. I can't really sell him more than that. I like that he's got good speed and athleticism, and FT shooting.

I will be playing Damien at the C spot permanently because I don't think he'll be able to guard speedier PFs. He'll turn out okay. He wasn't my first choice, either, but I'm pleased with getting him - the only reason I didn't look at him right away was that he isn't a local.

I spent a fortune wresting him away from Cincinnatti. I think he'll develop well, but might not contribute as much as I'd like right away, due to the rebounding thing. Maybe Marino or Damien will do me a favor and agree to a redshirt.

Well, this was messy. None of the guys I signed were my first choices. Manos was who I wanted for SF - you may remember I targeted him last year and he went JuCo. I should've put more into him last year. Right now Duke and Georgia are fighting over Hector Castro. I had him to myself for maybe one cycle. I forget who went against me for him but it wasn't Duke or Georgia. I think my other initial targets, besides Manos, were George Crum, Carlos Corlett, and Efrain Rose. I kept bouncing around to different undecided guys until I managed to get four in the appropriate positions. I'm not crazy about what I wound up with, but whatever.
