Our rebounding was obviously the big edge in this game.  Whyte and Davis were great (particularly for their positions)...between the two of them, they provided a 9-board edge over the other team's starting PG and SF.  Our defense could've been better, though.

Jerry Foss is leading DI in blocks so far this year, with 2.9 per game, in 21.7 minutes.  He's also pulling in 6.9 rebounds and scoring just under 10 points per game.  I think he has a chance to be the Defensive Player of the Year if he keeps this up.  Obviously if he were on the floor more, his totals (but not his efficiency) would rise, but our team is deep enough that that won't occur.

We barely shot any 3-pointers this game, which is unusual for us, but obviously we didn't need to, for the win.  Gonzaga is another team that will dominate its conference, so this is another good win.

We had a big edge in FT shots made (and attempted) and in 3-point shots not attempted :-).  Those two may play into each other a bit.

Foss has a field day with blocks and we beat a ranked team, at our place.  He's already #4 on our all-time list, only 22 behind the first-place guy, with half a season to close the gap.  If he has a few more games like this, Foss will be the greatest shot blocker in UMD history.

Up next, our big rivalry game with Boston College.

Tied at the half, we fell apart.  BC is one of the few schools with an equivalent talent level to the Terps, this year, but that doesn't mean that they should have won a game at our place.

I'm posting this a day late, but this was a good win against a quality team.

This win was not unexpected, but Ward Davis definitely had a particularly nice game.  BC happened to lose the game after we lost to them, and there are only a few remaining undefeated teams:  Michigan State, Illinois (obviously one of those two will lose soon), and Pittsburgh, which has had a very poor SOS.  I'm not pleased that we lost at home, no matter who the competition is, but I feel that we have a reasonable chance for another championship this year.  We'll get back to coinflip dynasty in the NT.

Whyte is having a great senior season and we simply don't have a ready replacement on hand.  Hopefully we can recruit someone who'll fill in adequately but I doubt we'll see this kind of production from our PG slot for a few years.

Anyways, we dominated UVA, as we should have.  They're crawling back from the depths in terms of talent, so won't be an issue in recruiting for a while yet.

Here, we dominate in basically every category, but had too many turnovers.

Our non-conference schedule is starting to really pay off in terms of our RPI.  Here's what it looks like now:

This was a game we easily could have lost.  FSU is a good, ranked team, and we were playing on their court, and Whyte had an off night from beyond the arc.  Regardless, I'm very pleased to come away with the win, here.
