I would bet 20 on San Jose not making it to round 3

I think they should cancel the rest of the playoffs and hand the Cup over to the Canucks.

If you mean $20, I'll take that.

Where the hell did nickhead go? Is he AFRAID to put his money where his mouf is? I'm willing to bet without even knowing the next opponent.

Allow me to fill in for nick...

todd, that's just crazy. What if they play the Canucks? Cmon unless you pay off the refs they will mop the floor with whoever they'll play.

I think even Nick realizes that it would be either the 'Yotes or the Wings...

But then I don't know him as well as you do....

You guys can make fun of the reffing thing, but Canadian teams are getting screwed over. From non-kicking motions with rules made up on the spot (with an Kings alumni put in charge of the call) to 3 diving penalties in a playoff game????????? Unheard of. Reminded me of that American woman ref in the Salt Lake final.

Canucks will get screwed (again) in the Chicago series. In what should be an exciting time for the Canucks, I just can't get that enthusiastic.

Meh on the refs caring one way or the other about Canadian teams. I'd say it's more that refs don't like Maxim Lapierre because he's a dirty player, and the calls go against him because of that.
4/27/2010 3:14 PM
Peter come on...Lapierre is a notorious diver and always has been. The first one especially was ridiculous. I for one am glad the refs called him for that one. The guy's a weasel.

As for the goal that was "kicked" by Sedin, player cannot "propel" a puck into the net using his foot, he can only deflect it in. He did in fact propel the puck in and therefor, it was the right call, like it or not. If Sedin was stationary and turned his skate to deflect the puck in, then that would have been a good goal.

These conspiracy theories are ridiculous. Oh yea Gary Bettman is this great mastermind out to get the Canadian teams. Get over it. Every team has bad calls go for and against them every game, it's just that in Canada the coverage they get is magnified so we notice them much more when they go against Canadian teams.

The company I work for produces NHL products and we have access to sales data from across the league. All 6 Canadian teams are in the top 10 in the league in merchandising and revenue consistently. Why would the commissioner of a league want to "get" the teams that make him the most money? It makes absolutely no sense. Get your heads on straight, please.

Because they can take that money for granted. Naive suckers like me. Whereas they are desparate to have American teams in the spotlight (any spotlight). Nothing needs to be said. Officials keep their employers (as a collective) happy and keep working in the league.

That's why I like sim hockey. There's really no money in screwing me

Sweet. I'm not even sure if I'd rather see the Wings or 'Yotes in the 2nd round. Pretty sure the Sharks can handle either one... if anything, I'd like to see the 'Yotes because it would be easier to get a ticket in Phoenix and fly out there.
