With the amount of players who use the Rule 5 as their feeder system, if I have 6 pitchers moving from AA to AAA as potential contributors at the big league level, should I jettison some second line players who are a toss up with present AAA prospects for big league roster space to protect these players?

Depends on what you mean by jettison. In order to remove players from the 40, you have to waive them. If they're not claimed you can keep them. And there's no reason to put anyone the 40 before it's necessary(or you're ready to put them on the BL roster if they're not 4 year pros).

Heard of any good April Fools' Day pranks today?

None at all. A long-time Cubs fan told me he was fed up with their BS and that he was switching to the Braves. I thought that was odd but made nothing of it. And because I didn't call him on it, he called me an idiot and pointed out the day.
