sorry - i am back - was away all weekend (thought I told you that Thursday when we played, Josh)
No doubt you did acketyack, sorry. But it worked out the same either way, since anyone not around over the weekend was left out of the challenge anyway.

We’re down to nine, so off to Springfield we go. In honor of The Simpsons ‘Talking Softball’ episode, each Survivor will pick one of the nine guest stars from the show and we will play a tournament for immunity. No tribes in this challenge.

This challenge will give an edge to those who have done best in the game so far. The nine players will be drafted and you will each choose one team featuring your player. The same starting pitcher can be used as often as you want, but normal relief-pitching rules apply. It will be a single-elimination bracket, with a play-in game for the eighth spot in the tournament. The two owners with the lowest winning percentage in the game will play in that contest, with the winner moving into the tournament and the loser going to Exile Island. Home team for each game will be determined by random.org. The matchups will be seeded 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5 based on Survivor 3 records through the first eight challenges.

The winner of the tournament will get individual immunity, and a Tribal Council will send one of the other eight players home.

The deadline for the first pick will be midnight Tuesday, with a maximum of 12 hours allotted after each pick for the next player to go. Feel free to use proxies (sitemail to me and anyone who has already picked), and please sitemail the players picking behind you to keep things moving along.

dang this is hard.  Lots of good seasons to choose from...I've narrowed down my search to 5 players and 16 season lol.  Nonetheless after 3 hours of research I need to call it a night.  I'll make my selection tomorrow, long before my deadline.

Question, by choosing "one team featuring your player" does that mean we have to use the player we take?
9/28/2010 2:53 AM
I am shocked to see that I am not in the play in game.

is there exclusivity? for example: if you pick clemens 86, does that means someone else cannot choose boggs 86?

wheeewww... pressure is off of me  :-))  I don't have to pick anyone , lol...

Your player must be on the team you take, but does not have to play. He does have to be one of the 25 players on the exhibition team roster, but he can sit in the dugout and drink Flaming Moes while his teammates play.

Players are exclusive, seasons/teams are not. So yes, the same season of a team could be chosen twice. When drafting, all you need to specify is the player you are taking. The specific team can come later if it speeds things up.

So if you DO take 1986 Boggs, you can't use Clemens? And vice versa?

narrowed my search down to 3 players and 3 teams.  Should have my selection in shortly.

Alright...after some testing I'm going a route I didn't think I would.  I'm taking Wade Bogg's and his 96 Yankees

Not a fan of SIM Boggs, but in 4 games, this team went undefeated against my other two choices.

oh I sm'd nfet as well
