A twist off the question above - in P's, if could only have 1 are splits or 3 quality pitches better in a starter?

I don't think poor splits can be overcome.   A pitcher with splits in the low 40s just won't succeed regardless of anything else, IMO.   That said, a pitcher with a best pitch of 50 is gonna suck also.

I'd take the 90 range.    SS is a high volume position.    I'd rather he get to them and kick 'em than not get to it at all.

If your "natural" pick would be 16th, you can sign Type A FA and keep your first rounder.
