Threester is the only owner in HBD I won't play against. He's a trail of high-salary, long-term turds in his wake. Only a friggin' 'tard commish would let him in a league.

Playing in the top leagues formed after owners had cut their teeth in other leagues is a different experience than playing in leagues where inexperienced owners compete against guys who know what they're doing.

You can't fleece people in trades (for the most part), you aren't going to find multiple ML starters on the waiver wire, people don't accidentally release good players, the Rule 5 prospects are barely worth scouting, and there typically aren't any cheap wins to be had.

I'm not familiar enough with the two worlds the thread originator plays in (although each are full of solid owners I "know"), but both of them started in summer '06. Leagues formed back then, when everyone was a n00b, got unbalanced. Without exception. Maybe his leagues improved (and I suspect they have), but I guarantee he built his powerhouses at the expense of guys who learned more slowly.

Let's just call it what it is.

Some leagues are far more competitive than others. I won 8 straight division titles in Joey Belle while doing virtually nothing with that team after season 2(and, naturally, the owner who took it in S9 did nothing and won a WS). JB had 20 "good" owners, another 6-7 who tried really hard and another 5-6 trouble teams that had rotating owners. Winning 90 there was akin to winning 60 in MG or Coop.

All leagues aren't created equal and they can become more unequal as the seasons pass.

I guess Im in a minority, but I will stand up for 3ster. I have been in several leagues with him and have never had or seen any of the problems tat ahve been complained about. Ihave however seen him have consistent success in this game even against top competition. I think the problems with him have been blown out of proportion due to the fact that he started several threads blasting some stuff in some of his worlds and had it thrown right back in his face. If he had kept the stuff out of the forums I doubt anyone would even say a thing about him.

The 18 worlds he's says something about him.

Ok csherwood , here's an example. Ballpark Franks season 2 , Threester gives out a $110M contract ( no trade clause and all ) and bails after that season. In addition to that he traded multiple 85+ projected 19 year olds for old expensive 5 year deals. Did I mention he's also a pain in the *** and loves to call every person a liar/cheater

IMO, he creates a problem so he can leave due to "personal conflict" rather than pay the piper when those big deals are a huge albatross.

That's awfully impressive, but I'd like to know what level of competition those were against. I know who jakaitis has played against (me, which = Teh Best).

Im not sure the level of competition really matters when your 43 for 43 with 10 titles. I never played with but thats damn impressive.

Has anyone won multiple titles in multiple worlds multiple years apart?

It's too common to have long-term success in a 'tard world or take a single team to victory by sacrificing the farm system for a year or tank for a few years to win one title.
