Ask yourself a question...It's such a basic question that it is frequently seen in latin as cui bono...

Who benefits?

Why would WIS intentionally insert drama? What benefit would they get from it? JohnGPF has just demonstrated that pure mathematics and probability will generate enough different results that there is no reason to insert drama.

Give me a believable motive and I might consider the basis of your argument.

You'd be better served reading a textbook on probability and/or games theory.

Ever play live biglenr or whatever? No, oh okay. That's why you're not grasping my point.

You're simply enjoying a joke that never was there to begin with and manufactured by johnGPF misunderstanding things and running with HIS assumptions. Flex those math muscles idiot(johnGPF & thread cronies), lol, I don't know what else to say b/c there's the truth.

Or simply read what I've actually posted throughout this thread.

Some claim we are saying the game is rigged.

The game is NOT rigged. What happens, happens to all equally and fairly. But just like anything else sometime you come out on the lucky end, sometimes not.

Why do I stay if I believe that it plays around with player performance?

Because I see it as a part of the game. Nothing more. In fact, like anything else in the game, I use this to my advantage.

Never once have I ever said the game was "rigged". Take that up with johnGPF's need to justify his endless hours quantifying this game mathetically. I think that's the closest truth you'll see revealed in this thread quite honestly....

Lol, stengel.

Yes, you ARE NOT GRASPING my posts. My suggestion to you is re-read what I've posted (which honestly I don't think you ever really did to begin with, you just hopped on the wagon b/c you are a syncope).

I do not have the energy nor do I feel the need to explain AND then re-explain, THEN RE-EXPLAIN AGAIN. Go cut & paste some more on something that's fraudulant in cause to begin with.

You don't understand stats, so you call others stat geeks. But honestly, if you were a little smarter, you'd see how silly you are here. Anyway, that's not going to happen, so we'll drop it.

What's even funnier is you blaming your "bad luck" on WIS intentionally and secretly messing with your players' performance. Riiiiiight. Because if there were no "leveling" going on, then a genius like you would be untouchable in every league he enters.

Arvid has caused me to change my mind! His deep intellectual arguments have caused me to see that 22 IP is an GIGANONORMOUS sample size because its half a season, which is like half of a whole. The great relief pitchers perform bad for people with .520 career winning percentages to keep them from dominating, yet the pitchers' performance history ERAs remain mysteriously as you'd expect them to be based on their stats.

THIS GAME IS RIGGED!!!!!

CLOSED FOR TRIPLE DOG REAL!!!!!

35 gp 32 sv 28 ip 1.93 era .223 oav 0.93 whip

That's Eckersley '90 so far in a $160m league.

Maybe I'm just lucky because of the small sample size, or maybe I'm using a cheat code they didn't give to every HofF'er. If the playing field were level, I'm sure I would be in the all-time Top 25 by now...

Nope. I leave playstation and video games to my kids.

But where, in your original post, do you refer to live play? I'm certainly not familiar to live play, but somehow I really doubt that they have a special "drama generator" installed into the live engine for the few of you who prefer the live game. Not exactly cost effective.

Arvid is the kid who took his bat and ball home when the other kid(s) would strike him out. NO WAY he could fail, and it must be because of some crazy plot that everyone has against him to make him fail.

Case in point - he is in a division with me in a 140 mil LIVE league. He beat me first 3 games we played, and was saying how horrible I was...and how great he is. I then started beating him fairly consistently, and he said "This is BS! No way your guys should EVER do this against me! I am NEVER playing you again!"

He is only happy when he wins, and when he loses, it is because everyone is conspiring against him.

There must be a diagnosis out there somewhere that would explain his ridiculousness....

I've only played 1 live league, but nothing seemed funny to me. Things always seem a lot more dramatic when you have to watch it unfold before your eyes. In a reg. league, I can look at a blown save or a 14 innings loss and will probably just belch and set my team up for the next game as usual, but when something like that happens live, I sometimes feel like killing small animals....slowly...or maybe quickly but more violently...or lighting my computer on fire...or opening up a window and yelling F***!!! really loud so my neighbors can share my frustration...(do I have issues?). But I didnt notice any unusual numbers by anybody when all was said and done.

Here's 1990 Eck from a 100M live league of mine (MLB82383) that just finished:

74 3-2 7 72.0 1.63 .140 0.64 7.38 1.38 5.02M

I played 151 live, so nearly all of those stats are from live games. Where apparently Eck sucks.
