Cap Athletic Conf - Red Recruit Rankings Topic

I managed 1 SG and 1 SF this year. I'd love to see where they fit in. To answer your previous question, maybe a condensed Cap rating followed by a D111 top 20/30/50.

I like both red, but really enjoy seeing the Conference recruits and how we compare to each other in conference. That being said, do what you have time for. I enjoy reading any of them so I am game for whatever you put the time in for!

and yeah, Mandi.....you suck man...your recruit has a negative red rating.....

Hey Red, on a side note, what is Bonner's potential like? Sanfillipo has high in athleticism and speed which was the big drawing point for him. he is only average in bh and passing and low in perimeter, but I liked the speed/ath upside. He is actually one of the recruits I have been more excited about in the past few seasons. I like his upside. He is right about where I would have expected him to be ranked cause one of the things I liked was his potential!

Red, speaking for me and some in the NESCAC conference, we all look at your rankings. I love loooking at these. If you can jump straight into the overalls, that's great. If not, no big deal as I know it's got to be a lot of work. Love looking at these and adjusting my style so that one day, I can compete with the red and tycobbs of the world....

Randy, Bonner's got high upside in BH, SPD and STA and low in perimeter. I also had Sanfillipo rated really highly on my list and considered going after him, but decided on Bonner. Based on the Red Ranking's, they're neck and neck. I felt really good about Bonner until I saw some of the beasts rated higher (see the DIII PG rankings) - those guys are a cut above.

Say what you will about my recruits!! I will be paying close attention to the preseason rankings of those same recruits over the years!! I recruited them for a reason....we will see if it pays off.

What would be interesting ranking would be a coaching ranking compared to recruit ranking. So that would mean that red and tycobb would be great coaches and recruiters. Where you Randy...might be a great recruiter but not as good of a coach? ..hmmmm. But I will say this, Randy you are still a better coach than me, and that sucks to say.

Great job red!!! This is great stuff! It makes it more fun.

Sorry for the lengthy delay fellas - too much work and not enough play lately. I need to rearrange my priorities.

Unfortunately, I screwed up pulling the SG data and somehow managed to omit all SG’s with an overall rating of between 417 – 397. Chalk it to user error and my primitive data downloading technique (otherwise known as cut and paste). There was only one CAP SG that fell into that category and I manually added him. Otherwise, keep in mind that these rankings are somewhat incomplete.

No elite signings at SG for the CAP this year, but still not a bad showing. 1 top 10 and 3 top 15. The usual suspects - Goucher and York - at the top, with Chestnut Hill right behind. Lesniak looks like a pretty solid player with core ratings all over 40, and very good REB and DEF ratings to boot. Not spectacular in any area, but very good across the board. Goucher's Greenough has the SPD you like in a SG, complimented with very good ATH. His PE is a bit low but with BH + P both around 50 and an outstanding ST and good REB, he'll make a nice addition to the York backcourt. The large gap in DEF probably provided the razor thin rating advantage for Lesniak.

JK's Leisure makes DIII top 20 and is close behind Lesniak and Greenough, though his ST scares me a bit. He'll need a significant boost there to log quality minutes. His ATH and P are a notch below as well. Despite the poor rating of Chestnut Hill's other signing, Patrick Fisher, I see some value there. His ATH and DEF are outstanding.

Galludet continues to land quality players above his prestige level, though I'm not sure what he's going to do with that 32 LP. Too bad Foote's REB and ATH are low or he could have made a really good SF. You have to think with his recent recruiting history, mmafioso will start to see more wins and get that program going in the right direction.

Is it wrong to feel a little giddy when you get a Red shout out!? Bison on the Rise!

OH, and Foote was meant as an Insurance policy in case my SF transfer doesn't make enough ground this year playing behind Magley. Worst case scenario, was that he would platoon with Austin, which is why I liked his 32 LP and settled for his less than stellar athleticism/Speed combo. I'm looking forward to His rank...but not as much as my two towers this year...I'm very interested in where my two Centers line up..... Thanks for Doin this Red.... Makes it all the better in here.

Small but outstanding SF class for the CAP - 2 top 10, 3 top 15 and all 4 in the top 20. Some quick thoughts...

- Goucher lands yet another extremely well rounded player with no glaring weakness. The only knock on Smith could be his low PE, but his 36 LP compensates.

- Very strong ATH+SPD combo for MW's Wethington, though his BH+P are pretty low for a SF. He'll also need to get that STA up.

- Mandi makes his first splash with a top 15 signing in Ricciardi. A big upgrade from his PG signings, and much more mandi-like, but that WE scares me a bit and the ATH is a touch lower than you'd like - but a good addition.

- Moose is s fantastic SF with a major flaw - that 4 BH could make for a TO machine, and limit his scoring ability. If that BH was closer to 30, he would have been the top SF in the CAP. It will be interesting to see how he pans out.

A large PF class in the CAP anchored by St. Marys and Goucher landing top 5 studs, with Hood also doing a fine job snagging a top 15 recruit.

I really liked Pickeral during recruiting and figured he'd be near the top of the class. I had to battle another school to get him. That being said, wait till you guys get a load of the #1 PF in DIII. Pickeral can't touch him. Unbelievable signing by Thomas and Kujayhawk - some of the collectively highest core ratings I've seen.

Goucher did once again what tycobb does; land a top 5-10 player with good ratings across the board. Hood's Schwendemann scored high due to great BLK+LP+PE, but I really don't like his ATH+SPD+REB ratings for a PF, and with that 1 WE, this guy's ceiling has to be extremely low. I would have looked elsewhere and I'm guessing the preseason rankings will show this over time.

MW continues to smartly place a premium on ATH+SPD. Knapp's ratings are otherwise pretty consistent elsewhere, with REB a little lower than you'd like. He should fit in well and contribute nicely.

Lao and Edgin are a significant step down from the top 4, but if you're able to look past his bad ATH, you can see the potential in Lao. Edgin fits the profile of a rebuilding program - decent in some areas but with significant holes.
