You don't have to...but it would be helpful. Particularly if you are able to put anyone on the DL. That should be recorded now. Also, if there are split season issues, we can pick that up right away (for instance, I know there is a player I "share" with Detroit). This makes sure that they aren't taking him, as I have ownership over him for this season.

OK...are we still going to have a draft of players that have no team right now? If that is the case should I leave a couple people off the team?

I just woke up from a nap so I am a little groggy and cofused

I confirm my team is in. Sounds like a good time.

Nope..that is your team. We won't have a draft of players since all the teams have now been reserved....so there are no extra players!

Thanks Pi_Kapp...glad to see you are going to be part of this

JUst a thought.. You may want to consider using the std 24 team format if two owner fail to enter or drop out. I seriously hate 16 team leagues mostly because the play off format make sthe league no fun after a few weeks.. I think a 26 team league using the 4 PL team format will make this even more unenjoyable at some point..

The league is set to be 26 teams. It should be a replay of the mid to late 80s seasons. I hear what you are saying, but the nature of the draft order for the first 3 seasons should make every owner keep their eyes on the road.

Is better defined as number of wins over RL wins or percentage of wins over RL wins? In other words, if the Indians (60-102 RL) win 63 games, and the Blue Jays (99-62 RL) win 102, each would have 3 more wins than the real teams, but the Indians' record would be 5% better than RL and the Jays' only 3%. Using percentage would give the lower-salary teams a slight advantage in draft order.

Hmmm...interesting. I like that. Any other thoughts about this?

Fish, keep in mind that going with just games-won over RL gives stronger teams an edge. It's a lot easier for an $80M team to pick up an extra 3 wins than it is for a $50M team. Anyone who has managed the Cleveland Cream Puffs knows this to be true

I think what he is saying is that using your "formula", basically the lower teams would be percentage wise ahead of the higher teams if tied. Do we still want the live games to be a factor.
8/12/2009 11:30 PM
Ah, yeah. I deleted my post

I want % :)
8/12/2009 11:31 PM
You made it easier to understand though. Instead of using the % for every team...basically, if two teams are tied, the lower real life win total would win out.
8/12/2009 11:33 PM
Yeah, but I won 57. If I win 61 and another team had RL 80 and won 85...

My 4/57 % is higher than his 5/80

(I think without actually doing math)
