Rule V 25th Anniversary draft thread Topic

I've sitemailed my choice to the commish, as I might not be around by the time marlowe makes his selection. I think bullet will be pleased...

just relax there Luca, or you will be sleepin' with the fishes.........and listen up my crout / mic friend, I wanted to save you the embarrasment of humiliating you and the Astros in your first leg back in a while, being as I may be the only 100% WOP in this Rule V, I will never go out like Freddo, just know that if your car won't start right away, and there is an odd ticking sound, you may want to jump out, or risk ending up like Nicky Santoro!

WELCOME BACK!

There are really six possible franchises in play for the Central, three taken (Houston, St Louis, Cincy) and three open (Pittsburgh, Chicago and Milwaukee). If all are grabbed, then it is up to the commish to figure it out. Perhaps Houston will end up in the West before all is said and done.

Bullet is a Kraut/Mick?! Good blood in that guy, right there! And I'm not just saying that because I'm 1/2 German, 1/4 Irish. Or maybe I am.

I was thinking the same thing, jose. Houston always seems to be the first to go when 5 central teams are taken...

I will take Cleveland.

I was going to mention this since I had the worst record (by far AGAIN) last season but since it doesn't seem to matter where I pick, I didn't bother.

Doc,

Depending on when Marlowe picks, I may not be around when it's my turn today. In order to not cower in the wake of bullet's challenge, I will endeavor to choose an NL Central team.

First Choice: Chicago Cubs

So tempted to take them, but their defense (in Wrigley) scared me away.

The difference being that I DID query the commish & was told that the order was set by "random"...NOT what the "rules" said...

Yes you did. I randomly assigned the franchise selection order, and totally forgot the rule. Once again, my apologies...

I don't blame you. If not for the bullet, they would not have been my choice. Even though I've been a fan since 1983. That said, we will finish ahead of the Astros. If they're in our division, of course.

Guess pugs is too busy celebrating Rule V League Championship v24.0 to be bothered to select a franchise ahead of us. Or perhaps he believes, quite reasonably actually, that the prior season champion should be picking his franchise, say, last.

Sorry doc. Had to be said. Again. We're not completely, utterly, totally effin' bitter or anything like that.
