I now have to redo my entire draft board....

I haven't reviewed a single player list....the list is in WIS research. I'd hate to think we have to start making sure our picks are only the ones everyone else is aware of. Just my .02.

I'll bet you didn't have him on your list because he was a SS in 1890 & you were just looking at outfielders
Yeah, but if you include secondary positions, Delahanty comes up as OF eligible in 1890 which makes him eligible to draft this year. According to the classified thread, you can draft him if he is eligible and then play him where ever you want...

I can see things going each way. The question is: When drafting position players do we go by their primary position only for their draft eligibility?

I did my draft board for players based on their primary position and didn't search with the secondary option. When on your team they can then be played anywhere. For my team, I can play Hornsby at any of the positions he is eligible to play at, but if he wasn't primary at second then I couldn't have drafted him. In 1919 he was primary at 3rd, so if we started then, I couldn't draft him for the MIF.

I gotta agree with tsballgame. I know I didn't consider players who played the position as a secondary position and I'm guessing most of us didn't because it is not stated in the league rules, nor are those players included in the available players list.

Commish we need a ruling on this ASAP...

I don't care which way we go but it needs to be clear as to who I can and can not draft.

tsballgame, I don't think its that big of a deal one way or the other, it doesn't affect pitchers and I've gone through the other lists to see what other players are available and while there are a few gems in the mix, I don't see any other blue chip top 20 type guys. Personally I think what is fairest is to limit players to their primary position and get a re-pick on Delahanty. And I think cubieblu is right that the commish needs to weigh in (again) on this.

I think the pick has to stand. The commish already said so.

I'm starting to redo my research. This changes the whole idea of the league, but "What's good for the goose....." I forget how the rest of that goes.

How about we get to more drafting and less complaining?
